"I got kidnapped."

She froze in fear as she automatically knew I was telling the truth from my tone of voice. Whenever I was telling the truth, especially when it's not believable, my voice went unusually deep and soft. Even I wasn't able to imitate it when I was lying.

"You-you. Are you ok?" She exclaimed, with tears filled with her eyes. Aurora rarely cried, so it was unusual seeing her like this. Yeah she would get sad, but not to the extent of crying.
"I'm fine. Trust me he hasn't done anything. He promised me that he won't kill me."
"And you believe that?! God, you're so fucking gullible. He's tricking you so you'd let your guard down. Listen you are staying at my place from now ok it's too dangerous out here."
"Aurora, trust me. Everything is fine. He hasn't even laid a finger on me. And it mattered to him so much that I didn't eat." I wiped the tears that escaped from her infuriating eyes. "I need to find out the reason why he chose to kidnap me. And plus there's this room. A forbidden room. He told me not to enter it but I'm curious. I need to find out what's behind the door. What secrets he has."

She took a deep breath and said with a heavy heart, "Ok fine."
"If he's doing anything tell me ok," she added.
"Of course. And please, don't call the police."
"I won't ok. I won't even tell the rest. But please inform me if something happens to you. I can't afford to lose you."
That rang a bell. Yes. He said it as well.
"Is he treating you well though? I mean, do you eat enough and is the place ok?"
"Honestly, the place is so beautiful. It's like some mansion, but the environment outside the house is really unsettling since it's the woods. But yeah, I am eating enough. He's such a good cook and made delicious crêpes for me yesterday."
"Excuse me, he cooks?! Kidnappers are usually exaggeratedly masculine, 'dominant' men who don't partake in submissive roles such as cooking or obeying orders. You're really lucky."
I chuckled at her description of kidnappers. It was so evident that she was a strong feminist and I love that so much.
"Anyway, but what should you tell them if they ask?"
"Maybe... I asked you if you need to tell me anything personally you can. They'd buy it."
"Yeah ok. That's sounds right."

After a few minutes we all left from the café and I saw a black car parked near the front. I texted him saying I've finished and he turned on the car. I entered the car and expected a 'How was it? How are you? How was work? Are you ok?' But nothing. Absolutely nothing. Maybe he was just really tired. Or had something in his mind.

Silence choked the atmosphere with its viscous hands that surrounded our mouths. I don't know what I was scared of more, his silence or what was on his mind. The journey felt like an eternity, but at last it finally ended. The vehicle swerved into the driveway as we entered the house.
"I'm gonna go shower now," I muttered, finally ceasing the excruciating silence. I expected a response but nothing. I stared at him but he refused to make eye contact. He only responded with a small mumble. Something was wrong.

After I showered, I saw that he was in his room, reading his book.
"Why are you so silent? What happened?"
Nothing.
"Listen you can tell me. Did something happen?"
He stood up now and slammed his book shut firmly, placing in on his bedside.
Still nothing.
"Did I- did I say something?"
"I don't know, huh, maybe. Of course, it was you, you fucking bitch!"
"But what? I don't think I said anyth-."
He abrupted me whilst slamming me to the wall and wrapping his hands around my neck.
"You exposed me."
"Sto- you're choking me. I. Can't. Breathe."
He finally released me as I gasped for air desperately.
"You told one of your friends that you got kidnapped. And chose to speak about it in detail." His eyes were burning with rage. With inferno.
"How did you know that? You weren't even there."
"And you even chose to speak about the shit I've done and haven't done with you." He ignored my question. Bitch.
"Listen. You don't know Aurora, but she will not tell a single soul."
"It better stay like that. And uh." He came in so close that we were only a few inches apart. "They didn't call the police right?" His voice was now low and deep, as I saw that his eyes looked worried. Anxious whether his fears came true.
"No. They were considering to, but they didn't."
"Thank God," he exclaimed with relief in his voice.

After dinner, he said that he needs to go to bed early since he had work the following day, and I said I needed to as well. I laid on my bed and thought about what happened today. Then Aurora's words played in my head. 'He cooks?!' 'You're so lucky.'
I mean. I was. He never hit me. Well. He only choked me once. He gave me food and ensured that I ate. He gave me a good bed and a good place to stay. No. It wasn't just good, it was comfortable. And he promised. He promised that he will never kill me. And I don't know why but I trust his words. In fact, I don't know why I trust him. And the smiles that he occasionally gave me, I want to see more of them. I couldn't afford to miss these opportunities. Maybe there truly was a reason why he kidnapped me. Maybe it was fate. Maybe I was meant to be with him. No. I am meant to be with him. I will make sure that I do.
