I looked outside the window to notice that the trees were painted with a majestic golden color from the sunrise. Opening the window, I felt a gush of wintry breeze on my bare face. After some time, I made my way downstairs. There was no need to search for him, I knew he was already downstairs. I could sense it.

"Good morning," he exclaimed as soon as I entered the room. "Did you sleep well last night?"
"Yeah I did, what about you?"
"I woke up in the middle of night and couldn't fall back asleep, but other than that, I slept well."
I gave him a slight smile whilst he was staring at me intensely, as if he wanted to say something.
"Do you have something to tell me?" I questioned him changing my tone to make my concern sound serious.
"Uh, yeah, uhm, I-"
He was shortly interrupted by a loud noise coming from outside. As soon as I turned back to him, he responded with something that shocked me.

"How could you?"

I went to go investigate the noise but when looked back at him, he was gone. Like he vanished into thin air. But I had no time to worry about his disappearance - I needed to find out where this noise was coming from. I glanced over the back door to notice that there was no one there. Creeping over to the front door, I gathered enough courage to open the door. Opposite me stood a man. A stranger.

Even though it was the morning, I could barely see him from a huge shadow on his face. He then began to walk towards my direction. Every step he took, I took one step behind me. Suddenly, he dashed for the entrance. I tried to close the door but he managed to enter. Running upstairs, I noticed he was chasing after me. I went inside the library when the footsteps got closer. I hid behind the shelves, covering my mouth with my hand.

"Listen, I'm not gonna hurt you," he said laughing cunningly. "I'm-I'm here to save you. Now there's no need to hide anymore." The intruder searched in every direction for me, seeing whether I was hiding behind the other shelves.
"Come out, bitch!" He screamed which echoed through the entire room. I checked to see whether he was carrying any weapons on him. None. But as soon as he turned his back to me, I saw a handgun shining maliciously from his back pocket.

Through the crack below the shelves, I could see his shoes creeping slowly from the corner. He was right in front of me. My spine shivered upon seeing him stop suddenly. As if he sensed me. No. He did sense me. I saw his figure slowly bent down to the hole from the shelf, presenting his face with an intense smile.

"I found you - and you really thought you'd be able to hide from me, huh?" I stared directly into his insane eyes filled with dark desires. With bad intentions I was unaware of.
I immediately stood up to realize that I was surrounded by walls. He moved the shelf effortlessly to allow himself to enter. Through the gap, I quickly darted my way to escape from him. But somehow he managed to firmly grasp hold of me before I could even move.

Clenching my eyes shut, I finally gathered the courage to open them again. I looked around to notice I was no longer in the library, but in a vehicle instead. It felt as if he drugged me but I knew for a fact he didn't do anything to me. I looked outside the window to see that he was driving me across the highway. My eyes suddenly widened in fear when I examined the door properly.

There was no door handle.

There was no way I could escape now. Before there were slim chances that I could've escaped previously, but now, it was over. The best thing I could do in this situation was to remain calm and not reveal my emotions.

"Wh-where are you taking me?" I questioned, turning to his direction to see that his entire attention was on driving.
Nothing. He gave me no response to my question, pretending as if I didn't even speak.
"Please tell me. Where are you bringing me? I wanna know."
"Fine. If you're that desperate to know, then I'll tell you. We're going to the police station."
I was shocked to hear that he was taking me there when he himself committed a crime. Wh- was he surrendering himself to them? I didn't dare to ask him why - he would've either stayed silent or replied with something blunt.
