On a normal day your self-worth wasn't at the highest. You knew everyone had positives and negatives, but you struggled terribly to be able to see what positives that you had. Even though you knew it wasn't healthy to compare yourself to anyone else, it did play on your mind, especially when you were living with your girlfriend who was an Amazonian warrior. Diana was perfect in every sense of the word, she was gorgeous, brave and intelligent and although they were all things that made you fall in love with her, you couldn't help but use those facts as reasons to put yourself down.

No matter how much you loved Diana, you couldn't love yourself, and you certainly couldn't understand how she could love you. You did your best to hide your self-loathing and dislike of yourself, but you didn't want to put that on Diana and did all you could to pretend that it wasn't playing on your mind. Sadly, for you, you weren't nearly as good at hiding things as you wanted to, and Diana had noticed and questioned it with you.

"I just can't understand why you like me," you shrugged, looking down at your feet, unable to make eye contact with her.

Diana furrowed her brows at you, cupping your cheek to reassure you. She had noticed your sadness and pain recently but only now did she know what was causing it. It wasn't something she fully understood, self-image taking a very different role in her home of Themyscira to the wider world, but she knew how much you meant to her and that was all she could go on to try and help you feel better about yourself.

"There is so much about you that makes me love you," she smiled warmly. "You mean so much more to me than you could ever really know. I do not know how I could feel joy as I do with you."

You let out a sigh. "I don't believe that. I'm not pleasant to be around or to look at or to listen to."

With your cheeks cupped, she raised your face to make you look into her eyes, so that she could see the tears welling into them.

"You're effervescent."

A gentle smile cocked at the corner of your mouth.

"I don't think anyone else would call me that."

Diana shrugged her shoulders. "Well their opinions do not matter."
