“Do you have to smoke in the car?” Christina asked for the eighth time as I drove down the abandoned desert road. I knew Ezekiel would shrug and smirk.

            “And why not?”

“Because its disgusting and filthy and-“

“In my car. Put it out, Ezekiel.” I glared at the Latino through my rear view mirror. His smirk widened slightly.

“And I should do this because?”

“I’ll throw your sorry angel ass out of my car and you can run the rest of the way to Louisiana.” My eyes narrowed as I looked at him and he flicked the cigarette butt out the window.

“I was done anyways.” Well this was a lovely car trip. I had Matt sitting in the passenger seat, Christina in the back starting at him like she wanted to drag him into a dark corner and rape him. Ezekiel the high and mighty bastard and Daniel.

“Shay will you kindly slow down?” I roll my eyes as Ezekiel changes the station earning a glare form Christina.

“I’m not even going that fast, Daniel.”

“The speed limit is 70 and you’re at 90.”

“Your  point? It’s an open highway in the middle of the desert, Daniel.”

“But still.” I snort. Daniel was still living in the 1800s.

“Daniel, let me tell you a little secret.” At that moment I rolled down all the windows and let the desert wind blow through the interior of my camero as I pushed it as fast as it could go. “No one cares when you’re this far out!” I yell above the wind. Matt lets out a whoop, Christina screams, Ezekiel smirks and Daniel starts praying.

I loved my camero, I loved the look, the comforting purr of the engine, but most of all, I loved the speed. If I could just keep driving like this forever I wouldn’t mind. Not at all. I changed the station back and cranked up the music. This was my way of living.

Daniel is yelling something as he tries to be heard over the music and engine but I can’t hear a thing as pain lanced through my head. It’s like having  a demon trying to probe my mind. Matt is shouting something and I feel someone grab my arm but I’m not there anymore.

I’m at a college and there’s someone standing in front of me and even though I’ve never seen this guy before, I can feel the aura around him. Like with a demon, you know it’s a demon cause it just gives off this aura if evil, this guy was the same, except with a mixed aura demonic and angelic in origin. His mouth crashes onto mine and I try to fight him off despite the growing pressure in my head. The pressure finally snaps and I send him flying back through a wall. I feel energy swirling around me, whipping my red hair into my face. Wait, red hair?

I snap back to myself, gasping and find myself straddling someone’s lap in the passenger seat. Matt.

“Are you alright?” He pushes my brown and blonde streaked hair away from my sweaty forehead as I lean against him.

“If you call diving into someone’s memories alright then yeah. Peachy.” I look over at Chrisitina who’s cradling her head in her hands. She looks up at me, face pale as she hears my words.

            “You were in my head?”

“Trust me it wasn’t on purpose.” I want to close my eyes but I’m, not scared but concerned that her memories and thoughts will come at me again. “Although I am curious why you didn’t tell them about the Fallen you met up with at school.” The car jerks to a stop and its only then that I realize that Ezekiel is driving.
