I woke up but I didn’t open my eyes, taking in my surroundings. You know how sometimes, when the people wake up they don’t remember where they are and think they’re back home in their own bed and nothing bad ever happened? Yeah that’s not the case with me. I knew exactly what had happened yesterday.
I’d blown up my college, been assaulted by a hot blonde, been stalked by a ginger and a Latino who clearly had issues, started seeing pretty lights, stabbed a guy who had no heart beat through the chest, and then saw him get lit on fire, and made friends with a bartender.
Did I miss anything? Oh yeah, I found out I could understand Latin.
Fabulous.
I couldn’t hear anything so I slowly opened my eyes. I was in a hotel bedroom. How did I know it was a hotel? The smell, all places had a smell, and hotels just had that starched clean sheets kind of smell. It was big, part of a suite I would guess, with honey colored walls, a curtained off window, dresser, and a large bathroom. My bag was on top of the dresser. I gingerly sat up, my head throbbing slightly.
Right, huge mental battle, another new experience from yesterday. I gingerly got out of the bed, relieved to see I still had on my clothes from yesterday. I padded over to my bag and checked the contents. I sighed with relief as I took out my undamaged laptop and my spare wallet. I saw the box in the corner of my bag.
I pulled it out. It looked the same as it had every other day I had seen it. Angel vs. demon, no key hole, no key, nothing like yesterday. Had I imagined the whole thing? I shook my head and shoved it back into my bag. I didn’t want to think about that right now. I grabbed some clothes and went to the bathroom. On the counter I found a brush and a toiletries. Seemed like someone knew what they were doing but I wasn’t sure if that was a good or bad thing yet.
The hot water felt like heaven and I scrubbed my hair and body as hard as I could with the little hotel soaps. Maybe if I scrubbed hard enough, I would find myself back home ion my own shower in my own little apartment. Get real, Christina. I told myself. I was a practical person, and I knew no amount of wishful thinking would undo whatever the hell had happened yesterday. Suddenly the water turned scalding hot.
“Holy royal blue fuck!” I shrieked. I jumped out of the shower, quickly shutting the water off as I let the cool air wash over my skin. I looked at the shower head. What the hell? Water was never going supposed to get that hot unless…someone flushed the toilet… a childish prank, though a fun one, I’d pulled on my uncle many times.
Forgetting that I was in a hotel room with two guys I didn’t even know, marching out in a towel was probably not the greatest idea. But than again neither was...well never mind.
“What the hell is your fucking problem?” I yelled as I marched out of my room. Ezekiel leaned against the counter, smirking his ass off while Daniel turned around as I entered, his face noticeably turning a red bright enough to match his hair.
“You were taking too long in the shower and I thought you needed to hurry up.” Ezekiel’s eyes trailed up and down my figure. “Excellent wardrobe choice I might add.”
I shot him the bird just as Daniel warned:
“Ezekiel,” He held up his hands still smirking.
“Just giving her a compliment, Daniel.” Daniel turned around, saw me and promptly turned back around again. I raised an eyebrow. Was I really that bad looking?
