Chapter 5

Buttercup pov:

Me, Butch, Boomer and Brick put our tables together with Bubbles. Miss Angel assigned a group project and since we were closest with each other, we were always groupmates. It is easier to work on group tasks since we can all find the right times and places for our project. We once even worked on the project during our patrols of the city in our supersuits. "Come here Arianna!" said Bubbles. I forgot Arianna is now in our group because she is my seatmate. I hope she is not one of those crazy lovesick girls that just wants to be with the boys. We were sorta popular in this school. The boys were known to be very handsome and steal girl's hearts. Bubbles was known for being a very kind girl Aka the softie and I was known to be the athletic girl aka the tomboy. I guess we were also popular because we were always with each other instead of those like us. They would say that the boys should hang with the other jocks, Bubbles with at least another girl who isn't a tomboy and me with the other tomboys/athletic girls. Basically we have opposite personalities which is why the majority of this school thinks it's weird for us to be friends. Another reason why we are popular is that we have friends but we don't allow them in our group. Many people want to be our friends and was are friends but never close enough to join our team. Those people would never fit in anyway. We were not just a group of teenagers but also a group of superheroes and they would need superpowers to join. "Hi Arianna! My name is Bubbles! Is it okay I call you Aria? The girl looks nervous but she says anyway "yeah, you can call me Aria and nice to meet you Bubbles. She hand out her hand towards me to shake " Hi my name's Aria; and you are?" I was shocked but only a little and didn't show it. Usually other girls would be intimidated by me but this one looked like she wasn't even afraid " Sup! My name's Buttercup and I'm kinda the tomboy at this school" For some reason, she smirks and the others look at her weirdly or nervously (probably because they think I would pulverize her and right now, I probably would.) "What's so funny? I ask, adding a bit of anger to my voice. She froze and quietly said while sadly smiling "Oh you just remind me of a someone I knew before"

Bubbles pov:

"Ok Ok ok" I immediately said to break the quiet moment. "How about you guys introduce yourselves?" "Ok, '' replied Boomer Hi Aria! I'm Boomer, Bubbles's boyfriend" I blush. "Boomer!!" I giggle "You don't always have to introduce yourself as my boyfriend. "But it's cute," he replies and smiles at me. "Are you guys a couple?" Aria says not in that jealous way but not also in that screamy happy way. Just in a normal voice though I could see that happiness in her tone. Me and Boomer nod our heads. "Omg, finally you guys are so cute!" She says I smiled at her but wondered why she said it finally when she only met us today. "Okay, Okay Baby Blues! Hey! My name is Butch" and he parts his hair and smiles at Aria. I know he only wants to see if Aria will like him. It's kinda a ritual now to see the fake friends that we have. "Hey, name is Aria and can you stop swooning, it's annoying." Woah, she avoided Butch's stare and even insullted him. Butch sits down offended. Me, Boomer and Brick really want to laugh right now.

Buttercup pov:

I feel slightly jealous when Butch does his signature move with Aria. He does it with every girl who wants to be our friend to see if she likes the boys. Woah, she rejected and insulted him? Wow, I am liking this girl even more. "Sup, the name's Buttercup" "Sup, the name's Aria" she says in a silly yet serious tone. "And finally we have Brick" I say Brick raises his hand in hello "Why isn't he speaking? She asks us, girls. I am pretty sure Brick and the boys are tuning in to our conversation using their super hearing. "He hasn't been the same once our friend left" said Bubbles in a sad voice "Oh sorry its okay if you don't want to talk about it" "Its fine" "Anyway speaking of couples, are you and Butch together? She asks me "I flush bright red and glance at Butch who is bright red as well. "No were not" I say "Aww '' she says "When will these two get together, it's already been so many years and they haven't confessed? They are denser than Boomer and Bubbles. She mutters. I look at the others and they are also surprised. Do we know this girl? Because she is sus. Anyway Bubbles, like the kind and social person she is, changes the topic "Anyway do you know what the project is about?" she asks all of us "You know me I don't study" says Butch in a bored tone. "Same here" says Boomer "Well Miss Angel said that we need to make a book report presentation on classic books because it has a wide vocabulary and unique stories. I was thinking of doing a Jane Austen book, specifically Pride and prejudice. It's one of my favorite books. I froze and so did Bubbles.

Flashback:

"I am going to get the snacks: says Bubbles "Woo hoo!" I say as I jump on the beds. "Buttercup shh, it's the best part" Blossom says, her eyes not leaving the page. "Blossom this is a slumber party not a readathon. Might as well get a job as a librarian if you love books that much. I say in an annoyed and teasing voice. "I'm back" comes in Bubbles with the popcorn and chips. "Bubbles pls tell our dear sister Blossom to snap out of it and come choose a movie with us." I say "Blossom pls watch with us" she asks with her baby sister voice, the one she knows Blossom can't resist "Or else will rip that book from your hands" I reply "You wouldn't" Blossom looks at me "I will" I say teasingly "Fine but remember you guys owe me. You should know Pride and prejudice is my favorite book"''''Yeah Yeah Yeah, all books are the same to me" I say and hug her.

Present:

"Really, your favorite book is Pride and Prejudice?" Bubbles asks "Who cares? All books are the same to me" said Butch I smirk at him. It's probably a coincidence. "Anyway yeah, but I also have my second favorite books which is probably the other Jane Austen books but I also love sherlock holmes..." and she counts in the air. "So  you're a nerd?" I hear a teasing voice. I am shocked to see its Brick! Smirking!. He doesn't talk that much to anyone anymore except us. "Well nice to meet you Brick! The name's Aria! And so what? I am proud to be a nerd!" she said in a sarcastic and proud voice. There is a look one her face as if she gave a hint or say something to us. Wait....Is she blushing?  This one definitely has a crush on Brick but she doesn't seem to be that stalking jealous fangirl persona cause she even ships me and Butch. I kinda like her but too bad she will just get her heart broken. Brick doesn't go into romantic relationships anymore ever since..... "Okay guys I need to go." and she packs her stuff "I have to go to the principal's office to get my assignments. I will see you next period?" "Next period is lunch" says Brick with an amused face. "Oh, so let's work on this this afternoon? "Okay!" "Sure" "Fine" "Fine with me" "I'm free" "Oh okay, see you then in the next class!" She says and walks away. "That was weird. When we meet someone, they usually want to sit with them on the lunch table." Said Boomer "Well this one was different, she didn't even fall for my handsome looks" says Butch "Only a Buttercup would fall for you Butch." says Brick and I blush again. "No I wouldn't" "I didn't say anything Buttercup!" Brick said again smirking "I know what you meant Brick and its no,no,no and no!!!!!!!! Why won't people accept that we just don't like each other? I say exasperated. "You know what? I'm done with this denial stage. Lets just go to the cafeteria."kk"
