chapter twenty:

I last more than five seconds

Flames engulfed Gorya's red motorcycle. Gorya herself was on her knees crying in the grass just in front of the fire. Bodies of wounded teenage boys scattered the field. Some had bruises, others had broken noses, and one boy definitely had at least a broken leg. Vincent was crouched down next to Gorya and patted her head. It was almost as if he was telling her "there there. let it all out".

And she did. Gorya weeped both out of exhaustion and anger. She was tired of the stupid red card game and she wanted nothing more than to be away from all of the spoiled rich people in the vicinity. Except for Vincent. He seemed to be the only decent human at the scene.

"Gorya!" screamed a voice in the distance that was rapidly approaching. When Thyme arrived to the scene he saw the work of Vinny from the countless teenagers laying in the floor groaning in pain. Thyme stepped over them and got to his knees in front of Gorya just as Vincent began wiping her tears. In that moment Gorya gave into her exhaustion and began to faint. Luckily for her, Thyme caught her and lifted her up to carry her in a bridal position.

"You're late," Vin said after getting up and dusting the grass off his pants, "I had to do your job for you,". For the first time Thyme gave him a nod of appreciation. He was thankful that Vincent was with Gorya or else the situation could have escalated a lot more. Perhaps Vincent wasn't as bad as he had thought. That doesn't mean that he liked Vin though. Something fishy was definitely going on with that guy.

After the nod Thyme began walking off of the field to get Gorya to a proper place that could nurse her back to her normal self. Midway through the walk Gorya awoke and the last thing that could be heard was the sound of her cries fading as Thyme took her away to his house.

Vincent was left in the field after Thyme ran off with Gorya. He then looked down at his jeans and noticed a red stain on his upper left knee and let out a curse. Liliana was going to kill him for ruining his clothes. All he could do was pray that she either didn't notice or that she would take pity on him...

yeah... he was definitely a dead man

"I can't believe your back, Ren!" Liliana exclaimed taking one of the cut up pieces of strawberry from the bowl in Vincent's hand — which resulted in a side glare from Vinny. Liliana, Vincent, Ren, MJ, and Kavin were all in their usual spot in the cafeteria waiting for Thyme to come and join them. Ren hadn't told anyone he was back from France yet and was planning to surprise all of his friends. So far, it was a major success. Ren gave her his usual smile, "I told you I would be back, so how have things been around here?".

Lia responded by shuddering, "It's been a shitstorm, Ren,". Vincent nodded his head and popped a strawberry in his mouth, "I saw a bike get lit on fire!". Everyone's eyes widened and they all turned to Vinny, "WHAT?," they said in unison. Vincent simply shrugged and got up from his seat to peer over the railing down to the cafeteria.

Once they all dismissed Vinny's sudden confession, Lia pulled out a tiny mirror and applied a striking red lip tint and stared at her reflection, "I think it's finally time to have my rebellious Disney channel arc,". Ren, Kavin, and MJ looked at her in confusion. Seeing the look on their face reminded Lia that they were born and raised in Thailand therefore didn't exactly have the same sense of humor or use the same slang as her.

"You know, like I'm gonna wear leather pants and dye part of my hair red and constantly wear an absorbent amount of eyeliner and maybe get a piercing. Hell, I might even sleep with Kavin to completely commit to my new role,". The boy in question looked up at her with his cheeks full of potato chips. His eyebrows were raised in surprise but it was undeniable that his ears were turning a bright shade of red. Lia made eye contact with him before continuing, "nevermind, I don't think I could stare at Kavin's face for the entire five seconds," she said shuttering in disgust. Kavin quickly swallowed the food in his mouth and began protesting. "What's that supposed to mean?! I last more than five seconds, Lia,".

"Sure you do tea boy,".

Kavin reluctantly gave up knowing fully well that he wouldn't be able to win against her. Not to mention his friend, MJ, wasn't exactly helping. MJ was on the floor laughing uncontrollably at Lia's response.

"I hate it here," mumbled Kavin which only fueled MJ's laughter more.

"Hey guys," Vinny called out nonchalantly, "I think Thyme just confessed that Gorya's his girlfriend,".

"What the fuck?"

SPOILERS FOR EP 14!!

This morning while watching the new episode I realized that Lia's speech about running away with Thyme and being broke together really took another meaning when his cards were frozen...

I also predicted that his mom was going to say she had cancer the second I saw the papers. I'm just so good today
