A bit of Y/N's backstory here, also do y'all like this book that much?

Loneliness. That was what you felt. When ever you went. You felt nothing. Nothing but loneliness.

"Grace! Happy Birthday!" The woman cheered with her husband.

"But, its Y/N's birthday too, not just mine....." the girl, Grace, mumbled. She looked down, her straight h/c hair falling past her face.

"So? We'll celebrate it tomorrow. I bet she doesn't even care anyway!" The woman replied. Grace went along with it, though the rest of the smiles she had weren't genuine.

You did care. You cared a lot. Especially when your mother didn't even care that it was your birthday. At least your twin sister cared.

Your pov
I never really had friends. Everyone liked the girl with h/c hair and e/c eyes. My sister, Grace. Though we looked alike, no one ever bothered about me. She was an angel. She cared about everyone, even me. But no one liked me. They thought I was weird, and that I was just my sister's shadow. They made fun of me. But Grace would always stop them.

I'm glad she's there for me. If she wasn't, I probably would have left a long time ago.

Back to 2nd person

"And first place is, Y/N." Nobody but Grace and the teacher cheered for you.

"Smartass freak!" A girl called out, inciting laughter from everyone else. You felt a tear in your eye, but you blinked it away. You would not let them have the satisfaction of seeing you cry.

"First place? Good job sis!" Grace smiled at you. You were walking home together.

"Grace, can I ask something?" You didn't look at her.

"Hm? Sure! You can ask me anything!" She replied.

"Why is it, that everyone hates me? Did I do something wrong? Why does everyone pick on me? Yet they shower you with praises! We're sisters! Why are we treated so differently by them?" You let it out. Tears streamed down your cheeks. You couldn't hold it anymore. You were tired of keeping it all in, lying to yourself that you were okay. Because you weren't.

"I don't know, sis. I tell them not to be mean, that you and I are the same, but they don't list-"

"Of course they don't listen. They only listen to you when it doesn't involve being nice to me!" Your eyes widened as you realised what you said.

"I'm sorry, Grace, I didn't mean that." You looked down.

"No no it's fine. It's not good to keep your emotions to yourself. Let them out." She soothed your cries. She rubbed your back and held you as you let out everything.

"I wish, I could just disappear from this world." You said.

"Don't say that! I would never be happy without you!" Your sister slapped you.

"But everyone else would be happier if I was gone, right?" You looked at her, eyes blank.

"I wouldn't!" She cried.

"Y/N, listen. You're special okay. You're better than every one of those people combined. They don't decide who you are. You are a magical blessing, sis, so don't ever think of yourself as anything else." She said.

(Just me comforting myself with my writing lmao)

"Magic?" You asked.

"Y/N?" "Yeah?" "You're necklace is glowing."

"Huh!?!?" You looked and sure enough, the crystal on the necklace was glowing f/c.

"What the heck? It's like a miracle." You smiled at your sister for the first time in a while. What you failed to notice, was the tiny droplets of black ink at the bottom of the necklace crystal.

"I'm glad." She sighed in relief.

But you weren't going back on the promise you made to vanish from this world.

You stood at the edge of a cliff.

"Y/N! Please stop!" Grace chased after you. She didn't want you to go. She knew it was selfish but she couldn't lose her only sister.

"Grace. I'm sorry. I love you, okay? Live a good life for me." You smiled as you fell.

Finally, I'm free.

That was your last thought as you hit the ground, pain spreading throughout your body before a cold yet comforting darkness. Grace looked over the cliff. She saw your body laying on the ground, a halo of  blood around you. Y/N, I love you too. She thought as she fell to her knees sobbing for the loss of her sister, knowing she'd never see her again.
