" And not just in a friend way", Thomas finished and looked nervously down at his hands. Suddendly Newt grabbed Thomas's chin and pulled it towards himself. "Can I kiss you Tommy?", Newt asked after they were alomst touching eachothers noses. "Yes", Thomas whispered as he felt Newts hot breath on his lips and his cold hand on his jaw.
Newt slowly closed his eyes and leaned in. Their noses were now touching. Thomas closed his eyes and quickly pressed their lips togheter. Both of them have waited for this moment for a long time. Thomas's hands traveled down to Newts waist. The kiss was soft and full of love. After some time they pulled away to catch their breath. They looked into each others eyes again and saw that they were both blushing heavily.
Newt pressed his head onto Thomas's shoulder and began to giggle. "What am I that bad of a kisser ?", Thomas asked jokingly. "No I... I just wanted to do that for a very long time", Newt answerd. "Me too, so why don't we do it again", Thomas said and wiggled his eyebrows after the last words. Newt blushed heavily but leaned in nevertheless. This kiss was shorter as the first one but it was more passionate.
After they both pulled away newt yawned. Thomas laid them both down and pulled the blanked over them. "Goodnight Tommy", Newt said sleepily. Thomas kissed Newts forehead and said goodnight in almost a whisper.
As Thomas woke up the sun was just rising. He detached himself from Newt and left the hut after kissing Newts head. The sunrise was beautiful. Thomas looked around to see Minho and the others at the fire. He walked up to them. "Good morning ", Frypan greeted him. "Hey Greenie ", Gally said who sat next to Brenda and Minho.
They talked for a while and ate breakfast until they heard a scream. It came from Newts direction. Minho stood up fast and made his way to the hut with Thomas and Frypan behind him.
As they entered the hut they saw Newt screaming and kicking around. Thomas and the others quickly rushed over to him. "It must be the side effects", Minho said with a frown on his face. "So we can't do anything?", Thomas asked worried about Newt.
"No but he should stop screaming in some days", Frypan said looking at Thomas.
After one day of hearing Newt scream like that Thomas felt like shit. He didn't want Newt to feel like that. Minho noticed this and spoke to him "Don't worry to much about him, he'll be okay before you can even say Glade". Thomas nodded still sad but he tried his best to hide it because he didn't want to worry his friends.
The days passed by and Newts screaming got worse. Nevertheless Thomas stayed by his side. Minho had to drag him out of the hut many times because he wouldn't eat unless he was with Newt. He only slept in when his body couldn't stay awake because of his lack if sleep.
One day the screaming stopped. Thomas rushed to the hut and saw Newt laying on the bed quietly like he was deep in the dreamland. Thomas sat next to Newt on the bed and gently stroked the hair aut of his face. He looked so peaceful.
As Newt woke up he looked slightly confused. "Is everything ok?", Thomas asked getting worried. "Yea but where are we?" Thomas looked confused and answerd him. "The save haven we are here for some days now". "I can't remember getting here". Now Thomas was really worried. What else has he forgotten. The cuddling. The kiss.
"Tell me what you can remember", Thomas requested and Newt started to tell the story with missing parts. "Well I remember the fight we had while I was infected. Then we were walking fast to one direction and my stomach was hurting. Then I was in a bed and you came in. Frypan left the room and we talked and you wouldn't leave my side. Then I can remember this hut. The sun that shone trought the branches at the sunrise. And you I remember you Tommy. You were always by my side and we talked a lot and cuddled." He said the last word quietly while blushing.
At least he didn't forget the cuddling. Thomas explained everything that Newt forgot, well apart from the kissing part. He didn't think that Newt would want to remember that.
