Chapter 8

(EDWARD'S P.O.V.)

A few hours after the others came back I went to look for Elizabeth. I feel horrible about what I said to her. Of course I was upset that she almost had sex, but I shouldn't have told her to leave. It might be months before she decideds to come back. Carlisle and Jasper came with me but we had split up a few hours ago. A few minutes later a sandy colored wolf almost ran into me. Seth. He immediatly shifted back and turned to face me, holding his hands up in surrender, "Before you threaten to kill me, all i'm trying to do is find Lizzy and make sure she's safe."

I held back a growl, "Just help me find her." He shifted back and we started running side by side. Hours later we still hadn't found her.

(RENESMEE'S P.O.V.)

"Nes, they'll find her. I promise." Jacob said, trying to comfort me. We were curled up on the couch in the main house. Everyone else was either looking for Lizzy or going to talk to her friends and see if she was with them. "They should have found her by now though," I said, "She could be half way across the world by now."

"She'll come back."

"What if she doesn't?"

"She will. I promise."

He grabbed my chin and pulled my head up so I was facing him. Before I could process what was going on he pressed his lips into mine. I was shocked but grabbed the back of his neck and kissed back. A few seconds later he pulled away. "What took you so long?" I asked. He smiled and stroked my cheek, "I just wanted to wait for the right time." I smiled back and kissed him again.

(ELIZABETH'S P.O.V.)

"Move faster!" One of the vampires ordered, dragging me by my hair. We've been walking for hours, maybe a day by now, and I can barely keep my legs moving. I wonder if my family is looking for me. I should contact Nessie but if I do she'll come look for me, even if I tell her not to. And if she does she'll be taken to the volturi too.

The woman came to walk beside me and punched me in the stomach, knocking my breath away, "Move faster or you're going to get a lot worse." She hissed in my ear. I gasped, trying to catch my breath, and tried moving my feet faster.

About an hour later I couldn't do it anymore. My knees buckled and I fell to the ground. The vampire holding my hair released it. My mouth was completely dry and my stomach wouldn't stop growling. I needed food and water. At least some blood, though i'd rather have human food.

"Get up you little bitch!" The woman spat and punched me across the face. I don't know why but that woman really hated me. I could see it in her eyes every time she looked at me. "Please, just let me rest." I begged. "We don't have time for you to rest!" She hissed and kicked me in the stomach, sending me into a tree. She came over and lifted me up by the front of my shirt, "Now start moving!"

She dropped me on the ground, grabbed my hair, and started dragging me, even faster than the man had. I stumbled every now and then and when I did she'd punch me in the face or stomach or yank on my hair. The tears that i'd been holding in came flooding out. I wanted to go home now. Even if dad was mad at me. At least i'd be home and safe.

(BELLA'S P.O.V.)

Everyone was sitting in the living room of the main house. We were waiting for a little while to see if Elizabeth came home, since we couldn't pick up on her trail any where. "She still won't answer me." Nessie said, sounding frustrated. "Just give her time." Jasper said and sent a wave of calmness over every one.

Seth, who had been the only one out looking, burst through the door. "I found something!" He announced. "What?" Everyone asked. "I was by the lake and caught her sent, it mixed in with a few other vampires. I tried to follow but it faded away." He answered.

"Other vampires?" Edward asked standing up, "Did they smell familiar?" "No." Seth answered. "What if those vampires took her?!" Edward asked in a growl. "Let's go and see if we can follow their scent." Carlisle said.

We all got up and followed Seth where he said her scent was. We followed it for a while but he was right, it did fade away. But we started looking in that part of the forest, hoping to find their scent some where else.

(ELIZABETH'S P.O.V.)

After being forced to swim across the ocean, being dragged most of the way, we arrived in Italy. About an hour or two later the vampires drug me into a large building. "You're back." A woman behind a desk greeted the vampires. "Get Jane in here." One of the men ordered. I remembered Jane. She wanted to get my family killed.

Just then Jane appeared. "I'm already here." She said, pushing down her hood. The woman, who was holding my arm behind my back, shoved me forward. "What happened to her?" She asked, walking over to me. Her voice stayed monotone but there was a small hint of anger in it. She tried to grabbed my face but I jerked away. "I told you not to hurt her." Jane said to the other vampires.

"Well we did." The woman said. Jane glared at her and she fell to the ground, screaming in pain. A few seconds later Jane turned back to me and the woman quit screaming. She gently grabbed my wrist and led me away from the vampires who brought me here.

"We have to get you cleaned up before you go to see Aro." Jane said. "What do you want with me?" I hissed.

"Aro has always wanted to meet you and see your power," She looked over her shoulder at me then turned back to look ahead, "I did tell them not to hurt you."

"Whatever."

She led me into what looked like a bedroom. It was empty except for a queen sized bed and a dresser. There was a door by the dresser. "This will be your room. You can take a shower if you want," She said leading me to the door by the dresser and swinging it open to reveal a bathroom, "I'll get you some more clothes while you do that."

I walked into the bathroom and slammed the door. I didn't want to do what she said but I did need a shower, so I reluctantly started the water and slipped my clothes off. Maybe I should tell Nessie... No. I can't. If I do my family will come get me and the volturi might hurt them. I have to find my own way out.
