My Brother's Best Friend -VS- My Abusive Ex.

Prologue

          I could feel the flesh on my cheek already burning from the impact my boyfriend's hand had just had with it. His rough, callused hands pushed me up against the banister, that was temporarily the only thing keeping me from falling down to the first floor of my own home, not to mention my death. All I could think in that moment, as the tears rolled down my face, was how much he had changed, how my loving, devoted boyfriend, Joseph Roberts, had left me with this horrible version of himself that made me wish I'd never even met him.

          "Case," I heard someone yell from below me. That was me, Cassandra, also know as Casey or Case, or right now know as the girl about to fall to her death. I recognized that voice, it belonged to my older brother Eric. I let out a relieved sigh. There was no way Joe would kill me in front of my big brother. That was beyond even his capabilities. I heard someone grunt in pain as I realized I could now move from my very compromising position against the banister.

          I looked up to see Aiden, my brother's best friend, punching Joe in the face. Every time I saw Aiden's fist connect with Joe's face I could feel Joe hitting me again, because that was how everything turned out now, with Joe hitting me. I grabbed onto the wall, trying to hold myself up. I could feel blood coming out of a cut on my head that had resulted from Joe's first hit to my face that night. I fell to the floor as the next dizzy spell came over me. "Stop," was the only thing I managed to say before everything went black.

          (*A/N* This is just a prologue. It's no where near as long as the chapters will be but I needed to write this so you know where the first chapter picks up and can understand what's happening.
