“You want me,” he asked confused.

“Yes, I want you. ONLY you. I love you Aiden.”

“You love me?”

“Are you a parrot or something,” I asked frustrated. “Yes, I love you. I love you, Aiden Daniel Jennings,” I screamed. “I don’t care who knows it or who thinks it’s a lie,” I stepped closer to him, “because I’m head-over-heels in love with you and I’m not letting you go… EVER again.”

He smiled like he had just won the lottery, wrapped me in his arms and whispered in my ear the words I’ve been dying to hear. “I love you too Case.” He grabbed my face in his hands and kissed me, and it was the best kiss I’ve ever had. It was kind of clichéd when it started pouring down rain, but I just laughed because to me, it was the most perfect moment in the world. I just wanted to replay it over and over. “You’re perfect,” he mumbled against my shoulder. We were locked in an embrace and soaked to the bone when a car horn honked at us from the parking lot. The passenger window of the car rolled down and Kim shoved her head out the window of what I now realized was my brothers car.

“Get in the car dang it! I’m getting wet,” she yelled at us. We laughed and ran to the car. We jumped in despite my brother’s protest at us being wet and ruining his car. “So,” Kim said turning around in her seat and looking at us. Her eyes got wide with excitement and I didn’t know why until she pointed at our hands. I was holding onto Aiden’s hand but I hadn’t realized it. I looked out the window, away from everyone so I could smile like the idiot I knew I would look like. “Come on,” Kim whined. “Tell us what happened.”

“Well,” Aiden started. “Case showed up at my house earlier today and I took her back to her house so we could talk. She told me she was with Joe,” He said getting interrupted.

“You’re what,” both my brother and Kim yelled.

“Let him finish,” I mumbled.

“Anyway,” Aiden continued, “she told me she was with Joe so I said goodbye in a subtle way and went to the park. Next thing I knew she was there yelling my name, calling out for me. When I went to her she professed her undying love and affection for me,” he smiled finishing.

“Aw,” Kim practically squealed.

“I did not profess my undying love and affection,” I said blushing.

“Shush,” Kim said. “Don’t ruin the cuteness of the moment. We all know Aiden’s story is cuter than the actual story.”

My brother and Aiden laughed at me as I said, “As my friend wouldn’t you like to know what really happened?”
