I got up and slowly followed my brother out of the room. He made sure the door was shut all of the way before engulfing me in a huge hug. “I’m so sorry Case,” he said into my shoulder blade. “I was just upset. I never meant to say anything like that and I would’ve apologized earlier if I hadn’t been killing myself for hurting you. Please tell me you forgive me Case,” Eric begged me.

“I do forgive you Eric, but please just talk to me first. Don’t jump to conclusions about the type of person I am.”

“I know,” he said backing up. “I should’ve known that you’re better than that and I’m extremely sorry and I promise I will NEVER jump to conclusions about you ever again.”

“Good,” I said and smiled at him. “Now I have to get back to class.” I hugged him and said, “Traeh will probably give me a ride home so I’ll see you there.” I walked back into the classroom with a smiling on my face knowing that everything would be okay as long as I had my brother and Traeh. I walked in and I could immediately tell that talk Mrs. Carlisle had with the class was about me since tension surfaced when I walked in. I walked quickly and quietly back to my seat near Traeh, praying the day would get better.

“Okay class,” Mrs. Carlisle started and I zoned out. There was no point in listening if you’d already had “the talk” with your parents. It was the same thing only a little more detailed and a lot more awkward. Even spaced out I could tell the class was laughing at something the teacher said that could be taken way out of context. They were completely immature, but I couldn’t have expected any more from them.

A note landed on my desk bringing me back to reality. I didn’t like notes. If you wanted to say something to me, you should just say it to my face, not take the cowardly way out and write it down. I opened it up and was surprised to see that the note was actually a nice one. Well, as nice as an anonymous note could get. It said, “Being a virgin isn’t bad. It’s a gift that should be given to your husband, a man worthy of it. Lots of us are also waiting, but it’s not ‘cool’ to say that. You are an amazing person for not giving into temptation.” I couldn’t help but smile at the note. I knew that at least one person or more, as they had mentioned, held the same values and moral standing as I did.

Before I knew it the bell was ringing and school was out. Everyone was pushing their way out the doors, murmuring to each other about the day’s events and the night’s plans. It was Friday, so everyone was planning on going to some big party that they would get drunk at and not remember. I didn’t drink so I was exactly sure how the memory loss and hang over thing worked, but according to my brother and his expertise, it sucked.

“Case,” I heard someone yell over the loud crowd. I turned my head back and forth, not noticing anyone of any importance, shrugged and continued walking towards Traeh’s car. We got in the car before the yelling of my name stopped and a hand knocked against the window on my side of the car. “Case,” said the person next to my window. I had my back to the person but I could recognize the voice now and it definitely wasn’t a welcomed.

I rolled down the window just a touch, not even far enough for him to stick in his fingers. “Yes, Aiden,” I asked impolitely.
