You left without saying goodbye
I smiled and tried not to cry
All I can recall is the memory
Of our love that can never be,
You left a note telling me lies
This made me laugh and realize,
That if you truly love somebody
You'll never hurt them this way,
So if you left someone in the air
Please tell them just to be fair
You may hurt them but do not lie
Because this is the best goodbye.
