•"Who am I?"
"I'm not sure, maybe that old witch far in the woods?"
"You are mean and cruel," Izel muttered, scowling as she withdrew her hands away from his eyes.
Finn faintly chuckled, "It's you! I must say, much better than the old hag," with the moonlight dancing on her face, he complimented her, making her smile widely.
He presented her with some blue hydrangeas that he had collected the day before. "It is your birthday, is it not I heard they are your favourite," he whispered softly, his hands caressing her face as he kissed her cheeks lightly.
She pressed her brow to his and expressed her gratitude for the exquisite flowers.
Finn exhaled contentedly and said, "I was pondering that after the full moon, we should inform our parents. They're fatigued right now because the full moon is approaching," making her nod in agreement.
Izel's smile rapidly transformed into a frown, drawing Finn's attention.
"What exactly is, my love?" With a frown on his face, he inquired. He was worried that something dreadful had happened, or that she no longer wanted to be with him.
With a shake of her head, Izel expressed her dissatisfaction with the situation. She looked up at him, tears in her eyes, and said, "Something is about to happen, I'm afraid. Something truly terrible. It will be inevitable," she remarked as she lowered her gaze to the ground.
"Are you sure nothing's going to happen?" He comforted her. "We're all going to be alright. I'll keep my word. "You and I," he said, before adding, "till the end of time.""
"Until the end of time."
He clutched her in his arms as if he'd just lost her. He was well aware that he should not dismiss her warning. His mother had had a lot of them before, largely from her ancestors and the fact that she had done something wrong.
He then moved a step closer to the water.
Izel snarled, "What are you doing?"
"Something terrible was going to happen, as you predicted. Let's make the most of the advantages we still have," he murmured as he took another step into the water till he was waist deep.
"You said all would be well!"
"I lied to you. I'm not certain, but I believe we will be."
Izel joined him soon after, her dress getting wet as he extended his hands for her to take, which she happily did.
This emotion they felt with each other was something they both enjoyed.
She gave him a smile and took his hands in hers, kissed his knuckles before raising her eyes to him.
"I love you," she murmured quietly as she leaned in close to him.
"I love you too," Finn muttered, pausing for a moment before adding, "I will love you till the end of time."
"Even after death, I shall still love you," Izel replied, beaming.
She tipped her toes to meet his lips. His lips slowly touched hers and danced with her tongue. They enjoyed each other with their eyes closed.
Those two sentences seemed to be their sayings. Said to no one else but them.
They both giggled as they stared at each other as they drew away, contentment filling their empty stomachs and love forming in their hearts even before they voiced those words to each other.
