Decide

I find myself stuck in the middle of  a decision. Either option is good. But I'm stuck on a set of tracks and the train's coming fast.

Jump to one side and I find comfortable and safety. I find I place I've always known and loved. A place that I call home. It's gentle and quiet, simple yet everything I need.

Jump to the other an it's all new. It's an adventure that's just calling to me. It's strange and exciting. I can have something so amazing here.

Which way do I go? Safe or Adventure? What I Know or What can be Anything? How do you choose something like this. When either option is just as good. Each one calling your heart in a different direction. It's not simple. And you know that if you go one way, you can never go back. You walk down a road and you know you can never turn around.

This choice will be a defining moment and you only have one chance.

The train is coming, and you stand frozen, like a deer caught in the headlights. The light is bright and it grows closer with each passing second. What do you do? How do you decide?

Flip a coin. Sounds silly, the way liitle kids settle things. The way we choose randomly. The fairest way to start a game. But I'm not flipping for the outcome.

Asign a heads and tails. Think clearly about your options. Now flip.

You see the coin, flying through the air, it's falling, deciding your fate.

For a split second, it hangs in mid air.

I know you feel it, that tug in your gut.

What does it say? What is it telling you?

  Listen.

You see, flipping the coin was not to see the outcome. What fate has decided. No, it was for that feeling. That less than a second point in time where you feel, perfectly, what you want to choose.

For that split second, you know what side your hoping it lands on.
