What if love
is like outer space?
We are
the planets and the stars.
Maybe
love is a collision.
The beautiful, terrifying
crash in the sky.
But,
that's just it.
We crash and shatter,
or collide and fall apart.
Maybe
we were only together
just to rebound,
just to fly apart.
But, oh, my dear,
you see this all wrong.
We are not planets repelled from each other
by the direction of our lives.
I am a star,
bright and steadfast.
You are a planet,
caught in orbit.
Maybe you leave
and I'm left behind.
But that's the beauty
of you in orbit,
you can always come back around.
