Nico di Angelo. Son of one of the most powerful men in the world. Has fought through hell to the place he is today. Which would be nervously standing outside of Half-Blood High School, awaiting the start of his sophomore year. The Italian boy wore a black skull shirt with a parka jacket and loose dark blue jeans. His black, shaggy, hair complemented his pale complexion.
He sighed, pulling his backpack onto his back, being careful to not have his skull ring get caught. He turned around and noticed the car his father had ordered to take him here left long ago.
"No going back now." He mumbled to himself walking in. He heard whispers and glares. He ignored it, pulling out the schedule he had printed out previous to arriving. He noticed his half-sister, Hazel Levesque, who spent more time with her mother than her father, leaving the half-siblings to not know each other well despite being the same age.
"Nico!" A voice called, Nico turned his head toward the voice. He winced slightly, realizing the attention it grabbed. There stood the tan, dark-haired, green-eyed, and six-foot-tall, the human embodiment of the ocean, Percy Jackson. "What's up? I didn't know you were transferring from Jupiter High!?" He asked, patting him on the back. Nico sighed as he continued walking, Percy walking beside him. "Why didn't you tell me? You know we could've had a party." He said, smirking.
"I'm not a party person, you know this," Nico said, refusing to make eye contact.
"Neither is Annabeth but she still comes along."
"Because she doesn't want her precious boyfriend to be hurt."
"Well, maybe you'll get a 'precious boyfriend' soon, eh?" He said, nudging Nico slightly. Nico rubbed his shoulder and glanced around, making sure no one heard. "I'm still not your type?"
"Percy Jackson, you will never be my type," he said, finally making eye contact only to glare at him. Percy laughed, Nico scowled.
"Okay, okay, okay." pausing for a moment before Percy said, "But why?"
Nico looked at his empty wrist. "Oh look at the time, I gotta go talk to anyone else." He said, speed-walking away.
"But you're not wearing a watch?!" Percy called out, standing where Nico left him. He didn't want to be seen with the boy he used to have a crush on. That would be absolutely horrifically embarrassing.
He sat outside his first-period class, scrolling through Instagram, noticing all of his old classmates having the time of their lives on the first day of the new school year. He saw many people meeting up with their friends, he felt a pang in his chest and his stomach curling. He watched as groups of students passed, almost whispering, all glancing and glaring.
The first bell rang and he stood, the teacher greeted him, Mister Chiron. The tall brown-haired man with glasses perched on his nose. He taught World History. His classroom was filled with posters of the world, different country flags, and maps that hung on the wall.
"You may sit where you please." He said, motioning toward the thirteen, double-seated desks. Nico chose a seat in the far back, trying his best to non-verbally deter people from sitting next to him by glaring at them.
It was working successfully until a tall, sunkissed blonde, tanned boy, walked up next to Nico. He smiled, revealing his white teeth and flaunting his blue eyes.
"Mind if I sit here?" He asked, his voice feeling like music in Nico's ears. Nico tried glaring at him, the boy didn't move and just awaited an answer. Nico sighed, nodding. "Cool." He said, sitting down. "I'm Will Solace." He said the smile he had on earlier was still there. He had a slight southern accent. Nico stayed quiet, unresponsive as students continued filling into the classrooms. "So, what's your name? Lord of Darkness?" Will joked. Nico glanced at him. Will bit his lip and nodded his head slightly. "How about Death Boy? Get it because of the shirt?" He said motioning toward his skull shirt.
