Chapter Three - Sickly sweet smiles and poor little bad boys.
Well, this is it. The moment I've been dreading this whole afternoon. Meeting the Parker's. Not only just meeting them, having dinner with them. Could this get any worse? I mean Chris is currently absent because he made some lame excuse about having to study at a friends house. So I'm basically going to be alone, with mum and Josh, having dinner at the boy who wants to beat up my ass's house.
My mother steps forward and rings the bell about 40 times and I mentally facepalm. I hear bustling and arguing inside before a lady who looks to be in her mid 40's answers the door, with a smile that almost blinds me with kindness.
"Kirsten!" Her smile widens (if that's even possible) as she greets my mum. She hurries out the door and hugs her as if they've known each other for their entire lives. Well, their friendship has gone a long way in the last 3 hours.
She moves along to where Josh is standing, and I can't help but laugh at his facial expression. He looks like he's about to bolt away and run back to the house. He hates hugs, and I mean HATES hugs. One time, when my mum went to hug him, he froze up and I started teasing him abut being nervous around her. Turns out that he has a phobia of hugs. Who has a phobia of hugs?
Just as the lady is about to collide with Josh, he mumbles something about having to get his wallet and sprints back to the house.
She shrugs her shoulders and turns to me, beaming. "You must be Sky. Such a pretty name!" She squeals, before hugging me so tightly that by the end of it I'm struggling for air.
"I'm Mrs. Parker, but you can call me Rihanna." She smiles. "Come in! Don't be shy, my husband's... out tonight but my son Zac is upstairs, he's probably your age Sky, I'm sure you'll get along very well!"
"Oh yeah, I'm sure we'll be best buddies!" I say, with some sarcasm evident in my voice, I quickly cover it up with a smile but my mum gives me a weird look while Rihanna just smiles at me. Jeez, she smiles so much that I'm surprised her cheeks don't fall off.
We enter the house and my mouth instantly drops. I've always wanted to see what this house looked like on the inside. I've always imagined what it would look like, but this is more spectacular then I've ever thought of it to be. The walls are painted glistening white with a gold roof and the wooden floorboards beneath me look shiny and polished to the max.
The curtains match the rest of the interior. They're white with gold tips on the end and there is a red carpet sitting in the middle of what looks to be the lounge room with a glass coffee table place directly in the middle of it. In the hallway there's a massive gold and red staircase leading to the second floor.
It all just looks so elegant. So posh and large, and definitely expensive. My thoughts are that these people are rich, filthy rich also judging by their car outside.
Rihanna immediately sees my reaction and beams. "It's a lovely house, isn't it?" I nod, with my mouth still wide open. Mum and Rihanna seem to be striking up a conversation between themselves but I'm still completely absorbed in this interior.
Just then I hear loud footsteps coming down the stairs. Zac.
I look over at the stairs, only to catch a glimpse of some real eye-candy. He's dressed in a black button up shirt and skinny jeans and white converse, which oppose my black ones, and his hair is messy but it's perfectly messy.
