Week fifteen

I don't know why I agreed to let Jenny talk me into us going for a walk on a hiking trail, but I did. And I was regretting every second of it.

The setting evening sun glared down onto us, blistering my exposed skin and leaving it burning and desperate for some type of coolness. Beads of sweat rolled down both of our foreheads, our hair becoming damp at the edges. My feet and legs ached with each step I took.

Jenny walks next to me taking a long swig at her water bottle before panting, "You know... this is good for the babies,"

"I'm sure it is," I shoot her a side glance before redirecting my eyes to the ground, focusing on the way my sneakers would stomp into the dried leaves and over the tiny insects. I found myself wishing that Niall wasn't at the airport to pick up Adrienne, he'd be quick to hike me on his back if I asked.

It made me think of Harry. I hadn't seen him since our night at the fair and I'm guessing his plan worked because in the text messages Gale and I shared, he mentioned that even he hadn't seen his friend.

Apparently, he's been in his office from the second he gets there to the second he's walking out, and even then, he's on his phone with a client. Gale says he gets like that when he's working on a big project and I find myself curious. I'd never actually cared to listen to what music he produced but this seems to be important.

But his newly profound business would explain why I hadn't heard from him outside of a few text messages where I asked him the brand of the mayo he owned.

"Have you got any baby names yet? For twins, that is," Jenny aks.

"I can't name them Bean and baby two?" I joke.

"You're stupid, of course not," She huffs, "But I'm not opposed to Jenny and Jiall."

"Yeah, right. I wonder whose idea that was,"

She shrugs, a grin quirking on her lips. I look at her, doing a double-take and finding myself mirroring her amused expression. "What?" I ask.

"Have you talked to Harry?"

"No?" I look away and back to my feet, feeling my face get warm and it wasn't from the sun.

Jenny knew about the sexual frustration I'd been feeling and when I told her that it'd been so bad I almost found myself on Tinder, the goofy bitch laughed. Right in my face.

I've never been this constantly worked up and it was becoming a bother. And it didn't help that each time I found myself in my bed with a vibrator between my legs, I'd begin to picture a familiar set of pink lips licking and pulling into a smug smirk, almost like he was taunting me. That alone was enough to make me clamp my legs shut and fling my eyes open, repeatedly shaking my head. Sex with Harry was great but I refuse to stoop down to such lows.

Admittedly, I even pictured Gale and his perfect smile and stiffened body, his large hands roaming my body and gripping each area with gentleness. But that was a passing moment because the second I realized he was not only Harry's best friend but his ex-wife's cousin, my face recoiled and I  went unsatisfied for yet another night.

I'm not sure why Jenny's solution to my dilemma was to just call Harry and politely ask him to fuck me, but it was. And it was Niall's too.

"You should, especially since Gale said he's been super busy. That means he's got some pent-up stress too," She says through breaths.

I stop and turn to face her, my breathing labored as well.

"Two things," I hold up my fingers. "One, I will never ask a man for sex, especially not Harry. It's embarrassing and I know he'll hold it over my head. And Two, even if I wanted to, I wouldn't know how to fucking ask,"
