When I woke up, the landline in Harry's room told me it was only seven am.
I tried to sink back into the mattress and reap the full benefits of its comfort, but the loud cracking of thunder along with the snap of lightning had my fight or flight response triggered. Plus, I felt the strong urge to piss and if I held it any longer, his sheets would be soaked.
So I pull the warm blankets from over my body with a yawn and crawled out of the large bed, padding over to his bathroom and quickly relieving myself before brushing my teeth.
As I'm leaving the bathroom, I wonder if Harry is up yet.
Not even twenty minutes into the movie last night, I started to hear his loud snores. I don't know how he comfortably slept with his head tossed back and mouth wide open the way he did, but he managed for the duration of the film.
When the movie was over, I decided against waking him and simply went upstairs to sleep in his bed, and boy was it the best sleep I'd gotten in ages.
My body felt refreshed after both the heavy meal and the rest. I hated that Jenny and Harry were right.
Speaking of Jenny, I should probably get ahold of her and Niall. I know she said he wanted to facetime me.
I thought ahead and placed my phone on the wireless charger on Harry's dresser last night, so its battery is full when I grab it and ignore the thousands of messages, heading straight for facetime and pressing Niall's contact. The thunder roars outside as the rain assaults the window and it's surprisingly calming.
"Eliana Rosalie!" His voice is hoarse and he coughs into his elbow immediately after, making my face bawl up into disgust.
"Ew, are you okay?"
"Absolutely not. I feel like-" Another wheezing cough, "-I'm fucking lurching my lungs out," He laughs. I can tell he's lying in bed, the comforter wrapped over his head and only exposing his face.
"Do you want me to call you later?"
"Probably, but I wanna see your belly before I go," He angles the camera so I'm looking at his eyes and eyebrows, watching intently.
I roll my eyes and prop the phone on one of Harry's large pillows, turning my body to the side and lifting the white tee. The bump is still small but by the reaction Niall gave you'd think I was holding the baby in my arms.
His mouth falls open and his eyes widen as he gushes at the camera, now moving it down so I could see his entire face.
We spoke for the next couple of minutes, half of the time which consisted of his chest rumbling coughs and sniffles. It actually put me in a better mood for the day, which is why when I hang up the phone with him, I instantly went to call Jenny and we spoke for a little before she had to go to sleep for work and made sure to pepper kisses all over her phone for me.
I'd been up for about an hour now, and I still haven't heard Harry, so I procrastinate on fully checking my notifications once more and toss my phone onto the bed and leave his room to enter the nearly silent hallway.
I can hear his snores from the guest room over the storm, meaning he did get up at some point during the night.
Today didn't seem like it'd be half bad. Harry and I were okay yesterday. We managed to not get into a single argument. Granted we overstepped a few lines I'd like to re-draw, but I knew that was for my own protection. As much as I enjoyed his touches and his kisses, the itching reminder of who he was when we first met won't budge. I can't let myself get hurt by him.
I open the guest door all the way to find him lying on his back. One leg is hiked up, his ankle pressed into the mattress, and the other lies flat. His left hand rests behind his head while the right rests over his stomach which rises and falls slowly with each soft breath.
