The beating of the EKG machine is the first thing I hear and though my eyes are weighed down and impossible to open, I can see the bright fluorescent light. It activates the pulsating headache at my temple, causing me to wince and squeeze my eyes before peeling them open.

The smell of saline and sterilizer immediately has my nose twitching up and my sinuses stinging. My skin pricks with goosebumps at the crispy coldness of the room and I'm inevitably shivering.

My headache worsens as I try to recall why I'm here and how long I've been here. I remember being at the beach with Harry...him doing CPR on that girl...Willa?

After that, it was pretty much blank.

The sound of a dull thump of a heartbeat makes me turn my neck to look at the monitor, breathing a sigh of relief when I feel the bands around my belly connected to it. The baby was fine...and I feel fine, except for a blunt pain in my shoulder. What the fuck happened? And where is Harry?

The sound of loud snoring immediately answers my question, and to my left, there he is on a small leather chair. His head is tossed back and his arms are crossed over his chest as it puffs and falls with each snort he takes. I don't know why I'm relieved at the sight of him, but I am.

It's still light outside, so I know I couldn't have been out for long.

I wince as I sit up and reach to grab the small cup of water on the tray adjacent to the bed, causing it to creak and for Harry to snap up abruptly. His eyes are bloodshot with each harsh blink he takes before looking over to me and furrowing his brows.

"I'm up, what happened," He rasps, running a hand down his face before glancing over at the EKG machine and looking back at me. "How're you feeling, momma,"

"My shoulder feels like shit," I reply honestly, sniffing afterward and clearing my throat. Harry helps me to grab the water.

"Yeah, sorry about that. You fell pretty hard."

"You didn't catch me?" I raise my brows in surprise. He quite literally had one job.

"I fuckin' panicked, alright? I thought you were going into labor or something,"

I shake my head and begin my drink. The room falls silent except for the constant beeping of the machine. Harry sighs and runs another hand down his face before using the paw of his hoodie to rub some sleep out of his eyes. He looks exhausted, his hair is dried from the saltwater and his face is drained of color. I don't know if it's just the lighting or the circumstances.

A knock comes on the door and it swings open a second later, revealing a smiling nurse in baby pink scrubs. "Hi! How's everyone feeling?"

"Her shoulder hurts, is that a problem?" Harry says at the same time I say, "We're fine,"

"Well you stated she fell on it when you guys were out at the beach?" She rolls over a computer cart and begins clicking on the mouse before tapping. At the mention of me falling, guilt flashed across Harry's features.

"Uh, yeah."

"That should be normal, how is it on a scale of one to ten?"

"Barely a one,"

"We should have some Tylenol for you to help ease that then." She nods at me and I nod back, placing my water back on the tray.

"So baby is completely fine, all of their organs are healthy and the heart rate is strong, as you can hear,"

The news has me releasing a mental breath I didn't know I was holding. My eyes flicker to the heart monitor attached to my belly, listening to the pulsating thump of the baby's heartbeat.
