Minju glances at her tiny wristwatch, looking around in hopes to find her date. "Where is she?" she frowned slightly, realising how it was already 15 minutes into the movie.
And there she understands, she's been stood up. What a bitch. She thought, staring at the ticket in her hand, really wanting to watch this movie.
After pondering for seconds, she decided to just watch it herself, giving the ticket to the staff. She wanders along the corridors and into the theatre hall she goes.
With her luck, the screen was still playing advertisements. Minju crouched down, going into the aisle just to realise there was someone in her seat. Someone that had lengthy legs, seemingly having trouble stretching them with cramped up seats.
"Excuse me," she whispers. The girl glanced up. "You're in my seat." She said.
"This is my seat." The girl stated while Minju tilted her head, peeping at her ticket again. It was definitely hers, E8, right smack in the centre of the hall. When the girl saw how Minju wasn't quite leaving, she took a mere second, looking at her from head to toe before extending her ticket towards Minju.
"You can check if you want." Minju then examined her ticket. The girl probably misread her seat number. "Yours is on F8." She said while the girl puckered her lips, smiling subtly.
"Can I just sit here? This is my favourite seat." She asked while Minju raised both eyebrows at how she was looking at her with bright eyes. Someone knows the best seats in this theatre.
Minju didn't want to argue any further, wanting to leave this place after being dumped by her date. Before she could leave, the girl held onto her arm, making her turn behind.
"You can sit on me if you want." Minju blinked frantically. "I'm sorry—what?"
There was a visible smirk on the latter's face, letting go of Minju's arm. "You can sit next to me if you want." She calmly reiterated while Minju cleared her mind for a second.
"You looked like you're desperate to watch this show." The girl said, tugging Minju to sit down. "My name's Yujin by the way." She introduced, somehow enticing Minju who wondered if she heard her correctly earlier.
It was as if the girl read her mind when she says, "Stood up by your date?" Minju broadened her eyes in surprise. "How'd you know that?"
"Same here," Yujin answered, sagging into her chair. "Second time. Do I really look that bad?" she asked Minju who turn to look at her, assessing her face along with her outfit—a leather jacket. She sure does give off that out-of-touch kinda vibe. Someone you don't want to mix with, but she was Minju's type.
Yujin looked at the girl who was just staring at her, or gawking. "Huh. I guess I don't." she narrowed her eyes, reading her face. "What's your name?" Yujin asked, finally snatching Minju out of her trance.
"Sorry." She apologised for gaping. "Minju, Kim Minju." Yujin let out a small smile, lights dimming around them.
"They're losing out if they stood you up," Minju mumbled, leaning back into her chair, comfortably watching the show.
...
In the middle of the show, she felt a leg touching hers, glancing at Yujin who spread her legs wide, head leaning against her palm, eyes focusing on the show. But it sure felt intentional.
Minju took in a deep breath, hairs on her arm standing. Think about cute babies, think about cute, babies...she recited in her head, waving her thoughts off.
