Keeping sane on a beach on a hot summer day was the hardest thing Yujin could do. Sun-kissed skin, the peals of laughter, all she could focus on wasn't the enjoyment of looking at shirtless people playing beach volleyball in the scorching sun, but the girl next to her getting her much-needed vitamin D.
Minju caught a glimpse of a guy she hadn't seen around before and peeked past her sunglasses to get a better look. They were at a party hosted by one of their classmates. "Who's that?"
Yujin, too busy laying her eyes all over the brunette, snapped out of it. "Who?"
Minju motioned her chin towards the guy fetching the volleyball—tall, slightly tanned skin, and don't even get her started on oogling at his abdominal muscles and the whole bakery he owned.
Yujin subtly rolled her eyes. "How would I know?"
The brunette started rapidly tapping on her arm. "Go ask him for me."
"Do it yourself." Yujin crossed her legs, adjusting her shorts.
Minju sneered and prepared to stand up. She did as she wished, and Yujin could only watch her from behind.
No, she didn't care if Minju got rejected by the guy or if she tripped on a random seashell. All her eyes were interested in was the swimsuit that the girl wore, small pieces of fabric fitting nicely around her curves.

Yujin sat at the back of the class, in her seat, letting time tick away during break as she looked at the hallway. There, Minju stood with the guy she had been eyeing since the day of the party.
A hit on her shoulder made her frown as she turned to see Yena with the widest grin on her face. "Who are you looking at?" She saw who was in her line of sight. That grin only grew wider. "You like Minju?"
"No."
"You can't lie to me." Yena started nudging the girl. "Your eyes say it all."
"I don't like her." Yujin denied, distracting herself with the textbook.
"Come on. I won't tell her."
"I said I don't like her." And that's a fact. There was no way she had feelings for Minju. Not when they had been friends ever since middle school.
Minju was someone who stuck with her for the past 5 years. The girl tells her everything. From her crush's name to her friends, everything and anything, but they were purely platonic.
Yujin, on the other hand, wasn't much of a talker and only thought of keeping Minju close to her. Not only to listen to her worries but to admire her beauty from up close—the way her face is sculpted, to that body of hers she wished to devour.
Yujin wanted her. She wanted Minju all to herself. That was something she couldn't admit.
—
Yujin sat at the window seat, ignoring the thoughts that stripped the brunette in her head. She glanced at Minju, who was busy texting someone on her phone, smiling to herself, and Yujin figured it was probably the guy from the beach. Turns out he was in the class next to theirs.
Minju heard a soft sigh coming from Yujin and turned off her phone. She adjusted her posture so that she faced the girl.
"What?" Yujin found her weird.
