"none of your business, Gale!" My father had yelled.
I felt betrayed. I told my father just about anything, and he's keeping a secret from me.
As nine o'clock approached I put on my hurstdene polka-dot silk pajamas (image at the top).
I heard my parents whispering across the hall. If you would call that whispering, they were horrible whisperers.Slowly, I slid out of bed trying not to make any creaking sounds. I again slowly, opened my bedroom door and pressed my ear to theirs. "You shouldn't judge Clementine on what her family did to you." My mothers voice sounded muffled behind the door. "You wouldn't understand Florence, you weren't there." He shot back. I could tell he was upset about whatever the situation was. "That doesn't mean you should blame Clementine, she's a nice girl who has a bright future."
"UNLESS HER FAMILY ADDS HER TO THEIR GANG OF RULE BREAKING!" My father yelled. Oh my gosh. Clementine's family breaks the rules, I break the rules but that's only occasionally. Everyone breaks the dumb rules every once in a while. I needed more information.
I quickly yet of course slowly walked down the stairs. And out our red door. Shoot, that's the second rule I've broken today. I didn't care at this point I needed to get out of our house.

after a lot of running hiding and walking when I got tired, I finally made it to Clementine's apartment away from her family. They always seemed so nice.Wait. Oh no. I had to check in Clem is probably asleep already. It was almost nine o'clock. I quickly checked in and made my way up to Clem's apartment. Now I can't leave until morning. I knocked on her front door hoping she would answer. I heard footsteps not from her classic heals though. She opened the door with possibly the most confused look I've ever seen on her face. "What are you doing here?" She whisper-yelled pulling me into the apartment.
"Well." I started." My dad doesnttrustyoubecauseyourfamilybrokeabuchofrules." I said all in one breath. "And I wanted to know if it was true and I thought you would probably know because they're your family."
"What did you say?"
"My. Dad. Doesn't-"
"Not that slow!" She said sounding belittled.
"My dad doesn't trust you because he said your family broke a bunch of rules."
"When did he say this took place?" She questioned as if she didn't know the answer.
"He didn't say. I was eavesdropping on my parents conversation and when I heard that I ran out." I said plainly.
"YOU RAN OUT OF YOUR HOUSE AND YOUR PARENTS DON'T KNOW YOU LEFT?" She scolded. "Yeah, why...oh." I said finally getting the picture. "Now my parents will be extra suspicious. They probably think we're outside breaking a whole bunch of rules." I put my head in my hands. I never think.
"Can we just go to bed and you can wake up super early to go home." She suggested. I nodded and we walked down the hall to her bedroom. "I'll sleep on the couch over there." I told her pointing to a big charcoal colored couch in the corner. "No. You can sleep in my bed. I'll sleep on the couch." She said. "I sleep in it every day I'm here."
"If you say so." I said climbing into her brass bed and tucking myself into her white covers.
"Goodnight, Gale."
"Goodnight, Clementine."
"CLEM!" She corrected.
