Chapter 10

A sudden gust of air rushes into Jane as a nurse secures him with intubation and an mechanical ventilation machine, nurses swarmed the room checking monitors, hooking him up to machines, and giving him an IV; getting Jane ready for some unforeseen surgery. Lisbon watched as they operated on the love of her life, her brother Matthew standing next to her holding her close to help her stand. Everyone told her to stay at home but she refused and with some help from her brother Lisbon obtained a cane, it was still hard to walk but she managed to reach her destination.

"He's going to be okay Reese."

"Do you really believe that or are you lying?"

"I've taken care of worse patients and the only thing that could be lethal to Jane is if he runs out of oxygen. Do you see the ventilation machine? It has enough oxygen to last for months."

"Really?"

"Yes, considering the head trauma he must have a concussion I wouldn't be to surprised if he ended up in a coma. Everyone is afraid of comatose but it just means the human body is healing itself I wouldn't worry to much."

"If Jane ended up in a coma how long do you think it would be?"

"No more then two months, maybe less actually depending on the head injury."

"..."

Two months, Lisbon looks at her cane and then up at the window as a nurse closes the blinds. Even when she had given up on herself Jane made it a point to help her and it ended up with him getting shot. If only she wasn't so affected by that drug then none of this would have happened. Lisbon can still remember the first time she started getting better and Jane would just smile at her and be so happy that he could help...she missed that, she wanted to see Jane's smile again.

"Teresa? Are you okay?"

She nods in response.

"I want to walk again, for Jane."

"Alright, it may take longer then you think. We basically have to reteach you how to walk."

"I don't care, this is what Jane wanted...I'm doing this for him."

Please comment! Sorry for this chapter being so short but it was a good stopping point and I almost don't want this story to end! That's right, next chapter is the final chapter but I've had so much fun writing this that I'm gonna miss it. I you want anything to happen as a reader (like if I have any plot holes or anything) let me know and maybe I might just continue???
