Chapter 4

Lisbon was in the emergency room for a day and a half before finally being moved into a separate, non-emergency, hospital room. Once they learned that she was stable, Adrian went to jail for the use and distribution of drugs. Tommy was greatly disturbed by everything and left Ann at the hospital with Jane while he rose publicity that someone had tried to kill his sister. And Ann, however, had no idea what was really going on. Or so it seemed.

Jane is currently pacing back and forth, thinking up strategies to get to Lisbon's room. Especially since Matthew convinced the nurse that Jane was not Teresa's husband, Matthew was immediately included on Jane's prime suspect list.

Grace has just told Ann who is now crying as silently as she can.

"I-I'm so sorry. This is my fault!"

"What do you mean sweetie?"

Ann wipes her eyes.

"I called Aunt Tess late in the night because I was still waiting for Baylor to email me back you know? So she answers and its like midnight and we talked about nothing."

"Okay, what else happened?"

"Someone came to her house."

Jane froze and silence fell over the room, everyone listened in.

"I wanted to know who it was but she said that it was a friend. She sounded surprised and said that she would call later."

"But she never did."

"I-I am so sorry! I should've seen the signs! But Aunt Tess told me stories of when Mr. Jane would come late at night if he was afraid that she was in danger, or that he needed her for something so I figured that it was Jane. I wished her luck, I hung up the phone and now she's here!"

Ann bursts into tears and runs to the restroom with Grace going after her. The rest of the team is processing what Ann has just told them.

"I'm going to interview boss' neighbors."

Says Rigsby as he takes his leave after calling Grace.

Cho goes to the nurse at the front desk and shows her the badge.

"Teresa Lisbon. Her attempted killer is out there, she needs protection."

"And I'm with him!"

The nurse eyes the two of them quizzically, unwilling to let them through. So Cho encourages her a little.

"Either that or you get arrested for refusing to comply with a cop."

"Lisbon is in room 346, upstairs, right down the hall to your left."

Jane practically ran through the hall to reach her room and without thinking shut the door in Cho's face. He sighs a sigh of relief once he notices that she's awake.

"Teresa."

She smiles up at him, failing to hide her sorrow and he goes to sit next her.

"Hey Jane."

"I would've been here sooner but Matthew proved to the nurse that we weren't married."

"It's okay, I needed to be alone."

"You should never be alone, is there something wrong?"

"I can't grasp things, Matthew gave me a pen to hold and I couldn't do it," She looks to the ceiling. "Matthew said that the drug took my strength away, that I need to go to rehab."

Jane picks up her hand and squeezes it in comfort.

"I'll be your strength, this time I'll save you."

She gives him a weak smile.

"Thank you so much, you have no idea how much you mean to me."
