Chapter 14

Ashton's P.O.V

Walking back into the store. It wasn't quite as busy as before. There were 3 guys on the salesfloor and the rest were unloading boxes. "Aye man, how's those sales comin?", i asked jamal while dappin him up. Jamal was a new guy that i hired 2 weeks ago. So far, he's been doing pretty good. I haven't heard any complaints and he's always on the job. "They doing great so far. We running out of Kd's on the shelves over there", he pointed out. "Alright. There's more comin in tomorrow so tomorrow you'll go to the back and get them to restock the shelves", i told him.

I walked to the office and found stephen filling out some paperwork. "My boy Ash", he said noticing when I walked in.
"What's going on man?,"i said dappin him up. "Nothin man. Just doing some last minute stuff. You heard about that thing nicole doing tonight?"
"Yeah, cece told me about it. You goin?"
"Man, I have to. You know ya girl all hyped about it."
"Nah man. She's not mine no more. That's all you. I got mines."
"Really? Who?"
"Ciara."
"Ciara..she don't ring a bell to me. She friends with nicole ir somethin."
"Yeah. They tight."
"That girl with the fat a-.'
"Aye man", I said stopping him.
"But that's her right? Light-skin, curly hair, thick girl?", he said smirking. "Yeah."
"Damn. How you get her? Especially cause that's jay's girl. I know you must've fought that nigga before he could let you have her", stephen said laughing. "Nah man. He ain't let me have her. I stole her from him. What you mean?"
"Damn. So they broke up", stephen said.
"Yeah a while ago", I said.
"Damn. You know how long I tried to get that girl, Ash?", he asked me.
"Well. I got her now so don't try nothin slick on my girl."
"Nah man. Never that. We homies, besides, i already got ya girl sasha."
"Man, you can have that girl. Ain't nobody flexin over her", I said carelessly. Although, it did hurt me how sasha gonna try to hook up with my homeboy after we went out but that's cool though. Ciarais the one for me. I ain't never chased a girl in my life but cece, i would. "Ight man. I'm gonna go check on the other guys. Meet you at Nicole's spot later", we dapped and I went back on the salesfloor.

Jamal came to me and said,"Aye man. Someone lookin for you."
"Me", I asked.
"Yeah. They came here askin for my manager. "
"Alright. Where they at?"
"He's over there."
When I saw where he was pointing at, I saw jay and his boys checking the shoes out. Damn, this nigga.

I walked over to him and said,"Aye man. What can I help you with?"
He looked at me and smirked.
"Heard you the new manager around here. So you gonna hook me & my squad up with some Kd's. I want everything on this shelf. "

I laughed. "You payin for everythin on this shelf right? Cause if you are, I ain't got no problem ringin you up."

He stepped to me and said,"nigga, what's funny? Look at me. I ain't got to pay for nothin. I get everything I want for free", he said showing me his gun. This punk didn't intimidate me at all.
"Not with me you don't. You must've been high or somethin to think you gone come up to my job and run things around here. Man, get out my face with all that", I said and walked away. One of his homies ran up on me and jabbed me in the mouth, I uppercut punched him up his nose. Jamal came running and asked if i was straight. I told him im good.
"Security! Get this nigga out my store", I yelled.
Stephen came out of his office to see what happened. "Aye man. What's going on here", he asked. I looked at where jay was and he understood. "Damn. This nigga? What he want?"
"Nigga came in here giving orders like he run things around here. Tellin me he want Kd's for free."
"You should report it."
"Nah. Ain't no need for all that. I ain't no snitch. Just get him outta here", I was pissed. This guy just started giving me a hard time but it ain't nothin I can't handle.
While the officers showed him and his squad the way out, i went to the bathroom to see if this jay guy did any damage to my face. Pulling out my phone, i turned it on and ciara's sexy fave popped up.

I had her on my lockscreen. Just seeing her face, calmed me down. If I could give that girl the world, I would.

After getting off from a crazy day of work, I arrived home and dropped the keys on the kitchen table. I sat on the couch and buried my head in my hands. There's so much going on and this dude jay just put the icing on the cake for me. I got up and went outside to check the mailbox. Bills, bills, and more bills. I bought this big apartment for my roommate and i but since he's moving, i should probably start looking for another apartment. I placed the letters on the table and went upstairs to freshen up. I grabbed my towel and took a 30 min shower. Going into the closet, I picked my outfit. Black joggers, white nike shirt & black and white nikes. Putting on deodorant, I had siri call cece. "Hey love. Are you home?", she answered. "Hey bae. Yeah I'm getting ready right now. I should be by you house in 5." She said okay and we hung up.
Just then, stephen called me. "What's good", I answered.
"Aye man. I'm really not tryna go to this movie thing tonight. You think you could bring sasha?"
"Hell nah man. You goin. If i gotta go, you gotta go", i said laughing.
"You a trip man. I guess I'll see ya'll over there in a a few," he said and we hung up. I grabbed the car keys and locked up.
Starting the engine, I turned on the radio, Fetty Wap's 'trap queen' blasted through the speakers of my all black Lamborghini huracan.

I called cece to come out and moments later, she came out with a white see-through half jersey that read 'Parental Advisory', black leggings, & black & white Jordans. she had her hair up in a tight, high ponytail to show off her beauty features and wore no make up. I swear every time I see this girl, I get butterflies.

"Hey baby", she said and kissed me.
"Hey bae. who you lookin good for?"
"Uhh you," she said laughing.
"Yeah. Better be", I said with a smile and while pulling out of the driveway. On the drive to Nicole's house, cece held my right hand and played with it.
"You need to do your nails", she said scrunching up her face.
"I ain't gay so I don't know what you talkin about",i said laughing. "You don't have to be gay to clean underneath your finger nails", she said.
"I thought you wanted a man not no sissy ."
She laughed. "I'm just sayin you need to clean the bottom of your nails. nobody said you need to get a French mani."
I laughed,"Baby you crazy."
"And that's why you love me."

I smiled because I was starting to fall I love with her. She smiled.

Once we arrived at Nicole's house, it seemed like they throwing a party for us or something. Nicole hugged cece while I dapped her bros.

"I missed you so much!",Nicole said.
"Aww. you act like I was gone for a year or something",cece said.
"Seems like it though. Ashton, Ima need you to not steal her away from me anymore. Can you do that?",nicole turned to me and said.
"Will do", I said hugging her.
"Man, where you been at though?",Marques (Nicki's older bro) said.
"Man, I been workin and the little time I got left, I spend it with my girl", I explained.
"Aww", everyone said. I glanced at Ciara and she blushed.
"I heard you a manager now",Marques said.
"Yeah."
"Congrats man. So if I go and apply right now, you'll hire me?",Kristen (nicki's younger bro) said. "I don't know about all that. I still got a boss on top of me but I can put in a good word for you, bro", I said.
"Aye man, I just got a new flat screen in my room. wanna go check it out?",Marques said.
I looked at cece and she gave me the ok. I followed the guys upstairs.
