*buzz*

I was waken up by my phone in my pocket. It must have died because it was 2 in the morning and my charger was in my car. I had almost forgotten where I was until I felt a warm body against mine and it was Derek's.

I thought this was the perfect chance to leave before he woke up. Luckily, Derek was facing the window and if I was quiet enough, he wouldn't notice. I didn't even bother changing back into my clothes so I grabbed my shoes and bag and left the room as quickly as I could. The biggest challenge now was making it down the stairs and out the door. The floor made noise with each step making me wait a few seconds before I stepped foot. As soon as I reached the steps, I thanked God that they didn't make noise and were covered in carpet.

All of my worrying had disappeared until the kitchen lights flickered on and my heart had dropped to the floor.

"Uhh, Mrs. Andrews, I-"

"Now I go to work at 4, what's your excuse?" She was surprisingly calm which only made me more nervous.

"I- I couldn't sleep.."

"So you decide to leave in the middle of the night without saying a word to Derek who I assume is still heavily asleep."

"It's not what it looks like Mrs. Andrews, I promise you that we didn't do anything."

I knew that this woman didn't like me for some mysterious reason. She stared me down and I felt the sweat form on my face.

"We have an alarm you know. You would've been caught whether I was awake or not. Is there some place you need to be at this time?"

"Uhm, not really."

"Well, you could stay on the couch until I leave. You're not my responsibility but I would be held responsible for what could happen to you if I let you leave at this time."

I didn't know what to do. This woman was so intimidating. She was young, fair skinned and tall. I know that if it came down to fighting, she'd kick my ass.

"Thank you, Mrs. Andrews."

"No problem, Jackie."

"It's Jamie.

"Jamie, my apologies."

I made my way towards the living room and I couldn't help but sigh deeply. The couch was huge and already packed with a blanket and a few pillows. I felt my eyes droop so I decided to take a nap until Derek's mom woke me up.

---------------------------------------------------

"Uhm.. Jamie? Are you awake?"

The room was too bright, my eyes were barely open but I could make out Mr. Andrews' voice.

"What time is it?" My voice was rough, I must have been asleep for hours now.

"It's around 10:30. I didn't mean to wake you but I'm leaving for work and I didn't want you to worry about staying longer. There's food in the kitchen and Derek left you a clean towel in the shower. And if you decide to leave, just lock the door. Now I'm running late, goodbye Jamie!"

It took me awhile to regain my memory. Derek didn't wake me up on purpose. "Fuckkk." I stayed on the couch trying to wake myself up so I could get to school by lunch. I left my phone charging and made my way up to the shower. Passing the mirror in the hallway, I realized how terrible I looked and how embarrassing it was that Derek's parents saw me like that.

The shower was short, I had no time to waste until I realized that my new clothes were in my car. I thought about running to my car but Derek ended up giving me the shortest towel that barely reached under my crotch. Instead I made a run to Derek's room and grabbed one of his t-shirts. Then I realized that I had no underwear. I stumbled to his underwear drawer and picked up a pair which surprisingly fit me perfectly. My jeans were downstairs so I prayed that while I made my way down the stairs that nobody would walk in the house. I spoke too soon,l as I heard the door open while I was in the living room in nothing but Derek's T-shirt and boxers.

"Oh my God, Jamie?!" Oh shit. "It's been forever! What the fuck are you doing here?" A pair of open arms stretch out to embrace me and before I know it, they are around me.

"Cassidy, uhm hey!"
