Three days had passed since she spoke to Darkdew. Over those days she and the other three dragons had learned multiple new words, including sad, mad, happy, is she, and is he. She was currently sitting on the floor of the cage, looking at the ceiling with it's stain glass like leaves. As she sat the black dragon came over to her, he was the only one there. After a meeting with the queen and a couple other dragons including the old lavender one, she had left. Trinit was a little surprised by this, he usually didn't seem all that interested.
He walked over to her and stared for a bit before saying hi. After a moment she gestured to his balled up fist. He held it up to the bars and opened his first. In it was a piece of paper, which she supposed was really tiny for a dragon. He put it through bars and it drifted to floor. She walked over and picked it up. He went to the back up the room to get an ink pot. He dipped his claw in and put a little blob on the floor. She sat down and set the paper down next to the ink. She dipped her finger nail in and began to draw. The black dragon watched with much interest. After a few silent minutes she was done. She lifted the drawing up to the so he could see.
He squinted to see the drawing then started to look grumpy. Trinit was laughing so hard you'd think it would cause a mini earthquake. She said "Mad dragon" it was the best she could do with her current words. As she looked back down at her drawing she grew proud. It was a drawing of that pouty look the black dragon had when the queen dragon ignored him. Suddenly his grumpy look turned to a smirk. He grabbed a scroll an ink pot. After another few minutes of silence he put it up to the bars. It was a drawing up him standing with his chest puffed out, he was next to Trinit who was very small and angry. "Hey this is not drawn to scale!" she said. Okay say something he will get, "mad" then she pointed at him. Now it was his turn to laugh.
Before he walked away he gave her another piece of paper, she decided she would save it for later. After a few minutes the queen came back looking exhausted, She collapsed on her hammock and took a nap.
The happy dragon walked in right after and the black dragon did a "shhhhhhhhh" symbol. She shrugged and walked over to the cage. She leaned down to unlatch the door "Yes the happy dragon always brought me out!" She reached her hand in and Trinit climbed on. This time, instead of holding her, she set her on the ground. Then a thought hit her. I could run now. I'm out, the doors right there, I could do it. Then she realized just how high up the hut was, tehere was no way she could get down before a dragon got her. Besides she didn't want to break the happy dragons trust.
The happy dragon opened her hand to reveal a wooden ball. It was round but choppy, obviously hand made. She grabbed it and clutched it to her chest as the happy dragon brought her back to the cage. She also brought out a small hammock, and pointed to the queen dragon. "Wow! They were all giving her things today." She tied the hammock to two of the bars. Trinit climbed in, much better than the floor.
For a while after that, she sat in her hammock while the happy dragon read a scroll next to her. Soon enough it was nighttime. She decided to use the wooden ball before bed. As she kicked it, she felt reminiscent, and her vision started to blur. Here we go again.
Her and the girl were widening a channel that has water flowing through. "Uuuuuuuugh I can't believe we have to do this." said Trinit. "Hey it's fine, we're almost done." After a few more minutes of digging in the blazing sun, they were finally done. "C'mon let's go play ball!" said the girl. "Yuna, why are you so excited, you know I always beat you." said Trinit. "We'll see about that." Yuna said as she pushed her. They played and laughed till the sun went down.
Finally, a good memory, and now I know her name! Things are finally looking up.
