A/N: Darkdew makes an appearance in this part. Hope you enjoy having a longer chapter :)
Alright, think. Every time a dragon walks in, or out, they say "growlll" in a neutral tone. So I think that means hi/bye. She repeated it a few times throughout the day till she thought it sounded the same, as similar as a human can sound as a dragon that is.
At about noon, as usual the queen dragon slid a piece of fruit through the bars. Today it was a juicy, plump piece of green melon. As she slid the fruit through the bars she lowers her head to see her. Perfect, this is my chance. To the queen dragon's great surprise, she walked up to the dragon and said in an nearly dragon like way, "growlll." The queen looked like she had just seen a monkey fly. The queen said "growlll" back in a flabbergasted way. NOT SO STUPID NOW. Then the dragon said her version of hi and pointed her. She did this three times before she finally got it. She wanted me to tell her how I said hi. Now that was easy, "Hi" she said to the queen dragon. The queen dragon "eye", she shook her head. After a few failed attempts she said "hi." She shook her head yes and the dragon looked elated.
Soon enough the queen dragon went to talk with black dragon. After their quick chat, the black dragon gave her a suspicious look. The black dragon was dragged over by the queen. The queen dragon smiled at her, she knew just what to do. She turned to the black dragon and said "growlll." He was in disbelief. Following that the queen dragon flew out out of the hut and returned with the happy dragon. Yes the happy dragon, if she could get along with any dragon, she was the one. The happy dragon bolted over looking thrilled. As soon as she lowered her head, I said hi. She paused in disbelief for a moment before telling the queen dragon something. The queen nodded enthusiastically.
The happy dragon flew up to the roof a snatched up one leaf of the many that made up the roof. She pointed to it and said some variation of "grrr." She repeated it till she got it right. All three dragons looked quite pleased. The happy dragon then pointed to her. "Leaf" she said. After a few attempts she finally got it right and was granted a nod. The two other dragons followed suit and got it right. After a few minutes of the three chatting happily in front of the cage, they left and each party said their version of hi/bye.
YES! She was thrilled! She could finally communicate with the dragons! Maybe they could talk, and she could find out about how they live, and everything didn't have to be so boring, and- wait a minute. These are the dragons who made you lose all your memories. These are the same dragons who locked you up in a cage like an animal. These are the same dragons who took you away from that girl.
Throughout the remainder of the day she felt like the two sides of her were having battle. She hated feeling this conflicted, why couldn't things just be simple?
Although conversations between the black and queen dragon, as well as conversations between other adult dragons were still slightly strained, she felt the earlier events had cheered them up. Just as she was starting to doze of a dragon she had never seen before walked in. He had two black dangling earrings and horns the colors of storm clouds. She originally thought he was the same type of dragon as the black dragon, she noticed he had frills, green spikes, and when the light shone just right you could see the purple in his scales. Then she noticed he had charming eyes like the black dragon, he had a slim elegant snout the same intimidating look as the queen. Also he- WAIT A MINUTE, THIS WAS THEIR CHILD. She had only ever seen one of their children before, who occasionally came in. She had a much more friendly appearance. This was definitely not the same one.
As they talked she looked closer at the the queen and black dragons face, she realized they didn't look worried or concerned, not even a little. The only reason anyone ever acts like things are fine, is when the things that's not fine is right in front of them. As if she had said it out loud the dragon turned around to look at her. WOAH. She was definitely naming this one unsettling dragon. All I can do is hope that whatever is up with this dragon doesn't effect my plan, or my chances of getting out of here.
