It was a cloudy and chilly Thursday morning.
September was already coming to an end and the temperature decreased significantlyThree long days (for Ron) have passed since the incident and since then he visited Hermione once with Harry, Ginny, Fred, George and Neville, and the other 2 times alone but for 10 minutes.
Madame Pomfrey wasn't for real when she said the next time visits are allowed are in 2 days.
He was busy with schoolwork, being a prefect and lastly, madame Pomfrey's strict visiting schedule wasn't making it easy for him. He could visit her, yes, but he never stayed longer then 15 minutes"You've been here the most! Let others have time with her" she told him the other day
He was very annoyed with her but she was correct, he visited her the most. Yesterday, madame Pomfrey drove out Ginny when she wanted to bring Hermione cinnamon buns.
"There's already one visitor! Miss Granger needs rest, not people to blow the horn by her head!" she told that to Ginny
That was pretty how one average visit to Hermione looked like.
Harry and Ron headed to their last lesson before lunch, which was Transfiguration. A subject they used to find fascinating but overtime it became insanely boring.
During the class, Harry was taking notes, Ron was bored as usually.
Whenever McGongall asked a question the whole class would turn to the desk where Hermione would be sitting..they expected to see her raise her hand, answer the question correctly and earn Gryffindor 5 points.
But no one was sitting there. The bell rang and the students rushed to the Great Hall for lunch.
Ron didn't have much for breakfast so he was really hungry, nothing different then usual. On their way to there Ginny joined them, complaining once again about Snape and his unfairness. Harry agreed with her, but Ron was looking around the halls as if he's looking for something.
"What's gotten into him?" Ginny asked Harry
"No idea" he shrugged
They sat for the table and waited for delicious food to appear. Harry wasn't really hungry but he could have a bite of something.
"Ron" , Harry started, "when's Hermione coming out of hospital?"
In that moment food popped on the table.
Ron started loading his plate in a hurry as always"After lunch" he stuffed some chicken in his mouth, "foday"
"That's great!" Ginny exclaimed while taking a sip of pumpkin juice
"So we're all going to pick her up?" Harry asked looking at Ginny and Ron
"Sure" Ron answered
They ate quickly, picked up their stuff and headed to the hospital.
Ron's only thought was that in a few minutes he would see Hermione and that she would finally come out of that lonely hospital.
While he was thinking about it, he remembered that there were always flowers in a vase nearby, it was the same vase from which he first took a rose. So he decided to take another rose and bring it to Hermione as a 'welcome back' gift.At least that's what he'll say if anyone asks.
He took a red rose, not paying attention to Ginny and Harry who exchanged surprised looks. He met their looks and decided to say what first came to his mind"It's a gift because she erm...got better" he smiled affiliatevly
Harry looked around at tried to hide his laugh because Ron looked so stupid lying. He felt the urge to say something but Ginny pulled his sleeve, so he gave up.
They opened the doors and saw Hermione putting on her robe at the other end of the room.
The books were still stacked on top of eachother on the floor, there were few pieces of parchment peeking from her bag. While in the hospital, she was studying and writing as much as she could to not stay behind with lessons once she comes back.
