Chapter 10:Love's a right pickle!

In the warm atmosphere of the Gryffindor common room, Harry, Ginny, Fred, George and Neville were waiting for Ron to finally arrive.. It was exactly 7 when Ron appeared at the door looking like he was on the cloud nine.. He sat down on an armchair and looked dreamily at the floor

Fred looked at George and both were probably trying to come up with some kind of a joke

"Heard you popped round to see Hermione?" Fred told Ron who seemed like he wasn't evem listening

"I have" he answered

"How'd it go?" Harry, and everyone else, could clearly see that something happened, like a kiss because they never saw Ron look like this..Ginny had an impression as if she's looking at boy version of Luna Lovegood

"Good" his smile gave him away, however they'd find out eventually because Hermione and Ginny tell eachother everything

"Did you kiss?" Ginny asked in a surprise waiting for an answer from her brother

Everyone looked at him even though they knew the answer already, they just wanted to see what would he say.
However, Ron didn't say anything but smiled rasing his eyebrows and headed to the dorm wishing everyone a goodnight. That was the answer

The next morning Ron woke up at around 9am since it was Sunday and the only thing he has planned today was Hogsmeade. It was cloudy outside and looked like it could rain any minute
He always found it hard to get out of the bed but today's motivation was a letter to Hermione.. Ron thought it'd be the best for them to write to eachother because he wasn't sure if Dumbledore would allow him to use the floo powder so often

The pile of clothes on Ron's desk was just growing everyday so he took the first thing he saw. On Sundays elves collect dirty clothes to wash and they assume whatever isn't in the suitcase is dirty, so Ron put one pair of his robe under his pillow to have something to wear tomorrow

He noticed Harry wasn't in the bed as well as Dean and Neville so he headed to the Great Hall for breakfasf hoping he'll see them there. And he did; they were sitting on their usual seats almost finished with their meals

"Goodmorning" Ron said and sat next to Harry

"Morning" Dean and Harry said at the same time

Ron hoped Harry won't ask him something about last night since he didn't want anyone to know yet and Dean was sitting with them.
He decided to eat a few sandwiches and drink some coffee to wake him up. Harry kept glancing at Ron waiting for him to notice, what he did, but continued to ignore since he knew what was his point

Breakfast was great as always and it was the mail's turn.. Dozens of owls flew through the window landing or throwing letters and packages.. Ron didn't expect a letter from anyone but at that moment an owl landed next to him. He had never seen it in his life, so he assumed that the owl belonged to the post office.. He took the envelope and saw that it was a letter from Hermione... How chuffed he was!

Neville and Dean decided to go back to the dorm because Dean got a package and the two wanted to see what is it.. They invited Harry and Ron too but they decided to stay

"I suppose the letter's from Hermione" Harry said a took a sip of pumpkin juice

"Yeah..it is"

"What does it say?" according to Ron, Harry was sticking his nose where it didn't belong.. He knew what he was getting at

Ron opened the letter and he saw Hermione wrote a long paragraph..He hoped it wasn't her explaining how they can't be together

Dear Ron
I hope you woke up in time to receive the letter.. I wanted to talk to you about last night.. I'm glad that we both finally gathered enough courage and confessed our feelings, otherwise this would have gone on forever.. Although, I wasn't sure that you would like me, but after that when we crashed into each other, I knew that you felt the same about me.. I would like no one to know for now (except Harry because he is our best friend after all) because I know that there is plenty of girls who would want to ruin it.
My mom told me that I will most likely be back by the end of the next working week, maybe Wednesday or Thursday... I'm a little bored at home, but I have enough time to write and learn everything I haven't. How are you and Harry? And is there anything new?
Write to me as soon as you get the letter
