Chapter 7: Gone for sometime

Harry opened the doors for Ron and he quickly put Hermione on the same bed she was in just this morning

He placed her carefully making sure he doesn't pull her hair. He could feel her body temperature lowered what he found very concering..he knew whatever curse Malfoy used was something he found randomly and didn't know the aftermath of it

"Move move" madame Pomfrey said to the gang which surrounded Hermione's bed

"What's happening to her?" Ginny asked..she was on the edge of tears. Hermione was a very dear friend to her and she was worried because the condition she was in seemed serious.. so was everyone else around

"I don't know dear" Pomfrey answered and looked at her with eyes full of worry and questions

Harry remembered how Dumbledore told them they'll inspect Malfoy's wand to see what was the curse he used. He wondered if they did

"Madame Pomfrey?" he asked

"Yes?"

"Didn't you inspect Draco Malfoy's wand to see what was the curse?" Harry asked and everyone's looks immediately turned to her.
Everyone was waiting for an answer

"Yeah, Dumbledore told us you'll do that" Ron said and sounded as if he was accussing her and Dumbledore

"We were supposed to but-" she started but Ginny quickly interrupted her

"Supposed? What do you mean 'supposed'?" she asked. Everyone looked at Pomfrey suspiciously

"Look, it's not up to us. It's Lucius Malfoy, that's what it is" she told them in a commanding tone and went to take out some kind of bottle from the cupboards

"What's that bloody git got to do with this?" Ron asked

Pomfrey poured some liquid in a cup next to Hermione's bed and wrote 'for later' on it

"He flatters the ministry and claims that we have no right to take away his son's wand without any witnesses or a warrant" she answered

"Well there was bloody six of us!" Ron exclaimed

"I doubt Crabbe, Goyle and Pansy would witness against him.." Harry added

"You're right" George agreed with him, "those gits are going to make it look like Malfoy's a victim"

"Is there anything we can do?" Ron asked Pomfrey

"I don't know..I guess, if you were there..but I don't understand the law and the ministry, especially Lucius' politics!" she said and headed to the doors

"She needs to wake up before I can treat her" she added and left

Ron lowered his look at Hermione..he kept recalling the moments of them alone on that hill, how they were so close to kissing and how she looked at him.
He got lost in his thoughts. Everyone was talking about something but he didn't bother to ask about what

He only had one thing in mind, and that's Hermione completely recovering. He lost her before he could have her..what if she never gets better?

Suddenly the doors opened and madame Pomfrey stepped into the room followed by Dumbledore, McGonagall and Snape

"What's he doing here?" George asked as soon as he saw Snape

"Not to defend Malfoy I hope" Ron answered and he stood up to greet the professors

"Good evening" Dumbledore said

" 'Good'? How's anything good about this?" Ginny said quietly to Harry

"I would like to say a few words and then ask you a few questions, if you allow me" Dumbledore started

"First and foremost, I'm very sorry about your dear friend Miss Granger, we're working on her treatment and-"
