The walls were echoing Ron's rushed footsteps and behind him, Harry's attempt to approach Ron.

"Ron", Harry said, "wait!"

Hermione's books fell on the floor so Harry picked them up.
"Blimey", he thought, "stupid books."

Ron either didn't hear Harry telling him to wait or he ignored him because he only had one thing on mind: for Hermione to be well.
He couldn't even show his real level of concern not to be too obvious

Finally, at the bottom of the stairs which lead to hospital wing, Ron stopped to wait for Harry, who quickened his pace, holding a hundred and one books close to him which Hermione finds all very important. It didn't make sense to him.

"That bloody wanker" Ron said while climbing up the stairs. Harry just confirmed what he said while looking at Hermione's lifeless hair hanging. She was increasingly pale in the face and it made him question if she's even alive.
He looked at Ron and couldn't tell how was he actually feeling; he looked furious, worried and sad so it was really a mix of feelings.

"I will take revenge on him when I tell you.How dare he ..." and then he cursed something incomprehensible.

Harry could swear he swore on Malfoy's mother but didn't really pay attention to that. I mean, in the end, it's Malfoy. The king of bullies and disgustingly rude people. Harry always wondered why's he like that. He could connect it to Malfoy's father, who wasn't really the best father figure, or simply influence of people he's around.

His thoughts were interrupted by hearing someone's footsteps behind them. They turned around and saw a redheaded girl rushing towards them. It was Ginny.

Harry and Ron were confused by her arrival.
Did whole school already find out? And if they did, how? It all happened not even 10 minutes ago or so.

"I wonder who told her" Ron said, stopping and turning around to his younger sister.
"Yeah" Harry replied doing the same

"Harry..Ron", she looked at Hermione at last with shock on her face, "I overheard McGonagall talk to Fred and George to find you..she thinks you're after Malfoy..I have no idea why but that's what I heard!" she said in a hurry.

The look on her face gave away she was also worried and scared for Hermione.
They were very close friends.Ginny might've been the only girl friend Hermione had.

"What?" Ron was confused, "what do you mean by 'after Malfoy?" he asked

"Allegedly, she told Harry to bring Hermione to the hospital and she couldn't find you later so she thought you went for Malfoy" Ginny said as she picked up a book that fell from Harry's hands. He didn't even notice nor cared for a book.

Ron and Harry exchnaged confused looks..

"Why did you even attack Malfoy?" she asked, handing the book back to Harry and as he reached for that one all the other ones fell down as well.

"Bloody books Harry" Ron said, "why does she need so many?"

"Well, Ron I don't know" Ginny helped him by taking half of the books leaving Harry feel a hundred pounds lighter.

"Thanks" he said to her with a slight smile.
"No problem" she replied.

"So," she started, "why did you attack him?"

"He called her a mudblood." Ron said while walking towards the hospital door. He already felt tired but couldn't show it.

"He didn't..", she covered her mouth with her hand, " that's-"

"...rude and disgusting. I know" he added.

Ron stopped in front of the doors waiting for
Harry to open them what he couldn't do because of the books so Ginny took them all.
Harry nodded as a 'thank you' and pushed large wooden doors.
