William laid in his bed with a glass of whiskey and with the full bottle set on his nightstand "To the revolution" he whispered to himself and took a swing of the amber liquid. He let out a small groan and let his head fall back against the headboard "for god and country"
Then there was a knock at his door, all he did was groan when the person walked in "bloody hell! What's wrong with you?!"
"Don't act like you care" he scorned before looking to the side to see Evelyn.
"Yes well I do..." she walked over towards him and pried the glass from his grip "It's ten in the bloody morning"
"I'm here to tell you that Johan has asked permission to court me...I've agreed"
William sat up and shook his head "You said you wouldn't leave me!"
"That was before I knew, anyway Johan is kind...he understands me..."
"And I don't? Eila please don't do this to me..."
"I'm sorry..."
"No your not" William mumbled and looked up at her "I kept my promise of keeping you safe, no harm has come to you" He was on the verge of crying by this point, he hadn't cried since his grandmother's death, he wouldn't do that now but God he was close "I was willing to give up a family in England with someone of extreme wealth for you! Just go away, leave me alone and don't come back, I'll marry in England and never utter your name again! How about that? Future Mrs Quinn!" William snapped and stood up, picking up his coatee "I cannot say the word I feel because of this exact reason! People always leave when I need them the most!"
Evelyn took his hand and tried to pull him backwards but failed miserably "Muffin..."
"Dont call me that, Miss Anderson, just remember the man who could've left you to be raped but instead saved you!" William shouted before walking towards the door "All this because I can't say a single word!"
"Why?! What could've been so hard as to say how you feel?!"
"Because everyone I've ever loved has left of died! My mother didn't love me, my father didn't want me, my Grandmother died and my brother stole my inheritance. Now I'm scared shitless because now you're now leaving me!" he shouted and instantly regretted his words "I cannot say that word, although I want to shout it" He muttered and looked down at the floor "I'll be leaving in three days..."
She paced up at him "William...don't go..."
"Why? You have that whelp-"
"Because I don't love him like I love you!" she was tearing up by this point, hell, so was he.
She couldn't take it anymore. Something inside her clicked and took control of her body. Without a care in the world, she raised her hand to his coatee and clutched onto the material, pulling him closer to her, violently crashing her lips against his.
He pushed her away and scowled. By the look in his eyes she knew that she'd fucked up. And for the first time in ages, she felt worried.
"I...I'm sorry-" but before she could stutter more nonsense out, her back smacked the wall and instead of a slap to the face, he kissed her. Without wasting time, she pulled him closer. Anger. Hurt. Comfort. Heaven. It was all there. All the tension they built up had vanished and for a second nothing mattered. Once he pulled away, he took a deep breath and let his eyes wander down to where her breasts strained prettily against her clinging dress. Licking his lips, William watched the way her eyes focused on his mouth and her slight gasp at his movements. He could feel himself responding to her, to how close she was and the way she made his blood boil with pleasure.
