I was mentally singing with the song when it was cut off. I opened my eyes and tilt my head to see who put off my favorite song. A smiling Emily was standing there holding a cup of tea. I look up at the wall clock and realized its already 3pm. Its been her routine to bring me a cup of tea at this hour.
"Tea time babe.." she said as she approaches and gives me the cup. It's somehow relaxing to have a cup a day. The mint flavor is just smooth. I gulp it down as she massages my shoulders.
"I think its time you get ready for the party." she whispered.
I completely forgot about her human party. Since last night I couldn't sleep waiting for a call from the neighboring pack or from the laboratory or from Enzo or Denz. I stayed here in my office since this dawn and I never got out. I'm here waiting for any update about yesterday. Emily was busy all day with her preparations the reason why I wasn't bugged or badgered about staying in here all day.
"Its only 3 Em. Your party starts on 7." She moves my hand away and sits on my lap as she leans her head in the side of my neck.
"Our party babe."
"How many will arrive?" I asked.
"About 60 guests. " I look at my phone in my desk over a pile of papers. It's always on a silent mode cause Em gets really nosey about everything so I keep my phone away from her. It might be the call I was waiting so I slightly rub her arm and move forward so she can get off me.
"Why don't you go get ready babe." I tell her sweetly and she smiled.
"Why don't we go.."
"Go ahead Em. I'll follow in awhile. Besides, I don't take much time getting dressed." She slowly gets off me and gave me a kiss.
"Okay, I'm gonna head off to the spa first, you can come join me any time" she says seductively as she struts away.
I waited til' she closed the door and I grabbed my phone and headed to my balcony. It was Enzo who called and I quickly pushed the button and called him back. My heart was thumping loudly for some reasons I don't know. I can't pin point how I should feel but I was quick enough to cover it up with calmness and I mentally told myself not to expect anything.
"Alpha." Enzo said on the other end and I breathed in and out.
"You were calling?"
"Lab results are out." He said and I had to breathe deeply once more to calm my thumping heart beat.
"You can come and see for yourself." I asked myself if I wanted to check for myself or just hear it over the phone. What's the difference anyway.?
