"Are you okay ?"

Mira chuckled dryly, shaking her head.

She was about to enter the elevator out of the penthouse and leave.

It didn't matter that Taehyung drove all the way here, she'd call a cab and go home.

".. Do you want to talk about it ?" He asked, tone gentle.

"Why is he like that ?" She questioned.

There was no need to ask who was like what, it was obvious.

The elevator dinged, signaling its presence but she didn't enter, waiting for the answer to her question.

"Taehyung has been through a whole lot of shit, that's it." Namjoon shrugged. "But I've known him since we were like five, he has always been quiet, observant.. And kinda mean, I admit it, don't expect him to change because he won't."

There was a small silence as she sinked in his words.

Taehyung'll never change, muse or not.

After all, what did she expect ?

But it really did reassure her that he wasn't specifically mean to her in particular.

He was just a bitch in general.

"There was a muse before you, her name is Jinnie.. And for some reason, he opened up to her, even went as far as falling in love, to tell you how deep in he was in, he felt ready to have sex with her which is a lot for him.. But she broke his heart, sending him back to square one." Namjoon continued softly. "So if you had hopes about getting close to him, I'm sorry to tell you it won't go anywhere."

Why did it hurt ?

Mira couldn't pinpoint what exactly about Namjoon's speech hurt her, but something did.

Maybe it's the fact that they'll never be close, or maybe it's the fact that there was a muse before her.

She wasn't the first one, probably won't be the last either.

That realization alone made her feel like her heart tightened in her chest, and that all the things he said were true.

She craved male validation.

Especially if the male in question didn't seem to like her the slightest.

For the first time in her lifetime, she felt pathetic.

"Let's go."

She looked at the front door of the penthouse.

The voice belonged to none other than Taehyung, his face deprived of any emotion as always.

She would normally refuse, but she wasn't against a free ride, no matter who she had to be with and how uncomfortable she might feel all along.

It was less scary than showing a stranger where she lived.

Either ways, she felt too heartbroken to do so.

She broke her own heart by setting high expectation for a guy who never showed the slightest interest in her, at least not the interest she wanted.

She couldn't say that he was using her because he paid her good money in exchange of her time.

He said it from their very first meeting.

'I don't wanna be friends with you.'

Yet it hurt so bad to realize that it wasn't sarcasm or an act.
