Silas Reid James

Maverick
The most heavenly scent passed my nose and I looked up, my eyes met silver. A small boy stood in the front of the classroom, his hands wrapped around a drink cup. He was looking at me, his face was half covered by his hair. Mate. My wolf said quickly. This guy was my mate? My mind immediately started asking questions, how could I introduce myself to him if I couldn't speak? How could I tell him anything?
"Silas. Sit down." He looked away first to the other guy that walked in. Silas? His name was so cute. They looked alike, or at least their faces did. Their eyes were different shades of silver, Silas' brother's eyes were duller than his. Their hair was different, Silas had black and his brother had red.
I couldn't keep my eyes off of my little mate. Grayson eventually lightly punched my arm to get my attention. "Vick, what's wrong with you?" I looked at him and back at Silas. He looked at Silas and at me. Realization flashed across his face and a grin slowly spread across it. "He's your mate?!" I pressed my finger to my lips and glared at him. Sorry, he mouthed. "He's cute," he said whispering once again. I nodded and looked at him again, this time he looked up and caught my gaze. He blushed and looked away. I gave a small, almost nonexistent smile. Just adorable. But how would I talk to him?

Silas
I felt my cheeks heat up as I turned away. He was H.O.T hot. His eyes were almost scary they were such a light blue and his black hair was just...ugh. I felt his eyes on me and peeked at him, he had a small smile on his face. His friend punched his shoulder again and began whispering to him. He never spoke, which was strange. "Silas?" I turned to my brother. "Why do you keep looking over there?" I shrugged but I knew. The minute I locked eyes with him it rang through my head, Mate.

By the time class was over I was bouncing in my seat, I wanted to hold Silas in my arms but at the same time, I wanted to go hide in a barrel. Grayson drug me from the room and to our next class, I glanced behind me as we left. My little mate was just standing, his eyes searching for me. My heart kept at the thought of him looking for me. I just hope he was in the rest of my classes.
The bell rang for our next class and my little mate barged in the room behind his brother. They sat down and several girls sat around me, no one knew I had a mate. If you were mateless you could marry someone but could not have children, in case your mate came along. And mine had, with his silver eyes that shined like moonlight. Of course, me being normal me, ignored the girls and kept my face expressionless.
Lunch rolled around and I sat at my normal table with Grayson, Grayson's little brother Lindsay, and some of our best warriors. Gavin, Fiona, Seth, and Sam were to name a few. I felt Silas watching me and looked up, his pale orbs found mine and he looked down shyly. I chuckled silently and watched him as he passed by us. He wasn't a human but he wasn't a wolf either. I caught his scent again, a vampire. Several of my pack members growled lowly, their eyes locked on my little mate and his brother. I growled even lower and they shut up.
I stood and threw my trash away, I needed a run. Grayson watched me curiously, I gave him a look and he nodded. With that, I walked quickly outside and into the forest. I pulled my clothes off and shifted, my black fur darker than the night itself. Yeah, I was a strange wolf, no one else had black fur around these parts. But then again, I never knew any wolves with a vampire as a mate. I ran, the wind rustling through my fur felt fantastic. My stress dripped off me in waves until nothing was left except one thing, how would I communicate with my little mate?
