Maverick
The sound of someone banging on my door had me bolting out of bed. "Vick it's urgent," Grayson's running footsteps filled my ears as he ran to my office. I threw on a sweatshirt and followed suit. I barely opened the door when he started talking. "Vick the rogue's request speaking to you." My heart stopped, I was the worst candidate to speak with them. But I had to push my fears aside, I was the Alpha, this pack was my sole responsibility. But my body and mind shut down at the mere thought of seeing the rogues.
Grayson sighed, pulled out his phone and dialed a number, he set it on speaker. "Hello?" My head turned to the phone. "Hey, Silas. It's Grayson. Sorry to wake you up but I need you to knock some sense into Vick. Could you please come over, you can bring Corbin if you like." His eyes lit up at the name of his mate. "Sure we'll be over in a few." Click. Grayson looked over to me," Keep it together Vick."
The sound of a car pulling up to the house hit my ears. I looked at Grayson with wide eyes. He pat my shoulder and left my office.

I walked downstairs and opened the door. Silas and Corbin looked at me. Both were in their pajamas. "He's upstairs, third door on your left." He quickly bolted up the stairs. Corbin's eyes locked onto mine and my wolf stirred. "Come into the kitchen. I'll make coffee," I turned on my heel, locking my arms against my sides.
As I was making coffee, a scout ran in. "Alph-," he paused when he saw I wasn't Vick and that there was a vampire sitting at the bar," Beta the rogues are starting to get antsy. They said if they don't talk soon they'll just storm up to the house." I growled and he jumped. "Hold them a little longer. I'll go get Vick."
Silas
I opened the door and saw Maverick at his desk with his head in his hands. I knew he was listening. "Mav what's going on?" His head rose and his eyes locked on mine. I walked over and sat in his lap. "Grayson didn't tell me anything. Whats going on?" He clenched his eyes closed and his breathing picked up. I wrapped my arms around him and he buried his face in the crook of my neck. "His family was killed by rogues a little over a year ago. An accident, but he's fearful of them now." I looked up to see Grayson. "I thought seeing you would help knock him back into Alpha mode."
I felt Maverick shift in his chair before I was lifted up bridal style. Maverick blinked twice and brushed my cheek. Grayson's eyes widened and he back out the room. "You've got him wrapped around your finger more than you realize Silas," and with that, he turned and went back downstairs.

With Silas in my arms, I walked down the hall. Pulling the chain off from around my neck, I unlocked the door. I watched as his eyes followed everything in my room. He didn't miss a thing. I set him on my bed and he looked up at me with his silver eyes. "Is this your room?" I nodded and kissed his forehead. Time to take care of business. He smiled up at me and watched me as I left. "I'll be here when you get back."
Grayson's eyes met mine as I entered the kitchen. He nodded and handed Corbin a cup of coffee. "You can stay in my room if you'd like, all our other rooms are full at the moment. It's the door all the way at the end of the hall on your right. We'll be back before dawn." The door clicked behind us. Several of our Deltas were waiting outside.
The scouts were positioned at our borders but the rogues were all but on our land. Their leader jumped up when they saw me. It was a woman with blonde hair and dark brown eyes. "You must be the Alpha. My name is Eliza. Please, we haven't come to try anything. It just we ask for your assistance." I looked to Grayson and brushed my shoulder. "What is it you require our assistance with?" She looked confused but continued," We were thrown from our packs, we ask that you allow us to stay and join your pack. We promise not to cause trouble and we'll even work for our keep. We have nowhere else to go and they were told long ago that if problems were to arise. We could come here." "By who?" Her eyes met mine," Lee and Hillary Emerson." My eyes widened, my parents.
