Another Year

Meeting.

Melanie's Pov
*Beep Beep*
"Ugh! Be quiet!" I said as my obnoxious alarm clock woke me up from my peaceful sleep. I slowly get out of bed and stretch. As I was walking to the bathroom, I see that I have a text message from Alexia.
Text Convo
Alexia💖: Hey girl! I'm going to come over your house early today cause I'm going to pick u up.
Melanie💋: Ok. What time are you coming?
Alexia💖: 7:00
Melanie💋: k bye
End of Convo
7:00 am
*Ding Dong*
"I'm coming, I'm coming!" I said as I rushed down the stairs. "Hey boo!" Alexia said as she walked through the door. "Hi girl." I said as I hugged her. I hear Daniel coming down the stairs. "Hi Alexia." He said with a smile on his face. "Hi." After she said that she started to blush. They were staring at each other for a minute straight. "Um. Well Alexia lets go upstairs to my room." I said awkwardly. "O-oh ok." she said snapping back to reality. Wow. That was awkward. "Wait. I need to use the bathroom for a sec. So I will meet you up there." She said to me. "Ok." I walked back upstairs into my room and just went on my phone.
Alexia's Pov
After I was done using the bathroom, I was starting to head up to Melanie's room. Until Daniel stopped me. "Hey Alexia." He said as he gave me that nice smile he has. "Hi." I said nervously. "So what's up?" He asked me as he leaned on the door frame. "Nothing much. You?" "Nothing much either. But I wanted to ask you something." Oh no what is it? I started to have butterflies in my stomach.
"What's up?" I asked not ready to hear what he was about to say. "Do you wanna hang out sometimes?" He asked nervously. Omg! Did Daniel just ask me out? I realized that I was just standing there. " Hello? Alexia?" He waved his hand in front of me. "Oh yea sorry. But I mean, sure why not." I flashed him a small smile. "Ok see you later?" "Yea sure." As he was walking away, I did my little happy dance up the stairs.
Melanie's Pov
Ugh! Where's Alexia? I turned off my phone and right as I was about to put my phone on my dresser, there she was. "Where were you for the past... 10 minutes?" I asked out of curiosity. "Well about that. Um..." She said stalling. "ALEXIA! Say it already!" I said getting impatient. "Ok ok. Daniel asked me out!!!" She said excitedly. "Well I already knew that." I said sitting on my bed. "Why didn't you tell me this?!?" "I was not supposed to tell you." I said as I sarcastically rolled my eyes. "Yea whatever."
"Yea ok. Let's get going. It's already 7:35. So let's start leaving." I said as I grabbed my backpack and my phone. "Ok." Alexia said as she was getting off my bed.
I walked out of my room and told Daniel I'm leaving with Alexia. He suddenly rushed to the stairs and said goodbye to me. I turned around to go to the door and in the corner of my eye, I see Alexia and Daniel hugging each other goodbye. Oh? So I don't get a hug but she does? Oh ok. I see how it is.
"Alexia let's go!" I said walking down the steps. "Alright I'm coming!" She said as she closed the door. We walked to her car and got in. She started the engine and pulled out of my driveway. Off to school.😩

At school
We walk in and it was crowded in the hallways. Today, Alexia and I had a different class for 1st period, so we had to go different ways. But for the rest of the periods, we had the same classes. "Excuse me." I said as I tried to squeeze through. "Hi Melanie." A girl named Amanda said to me. "Hi Amanda. How are you?" I asked nicely. "I'm doing good. Keeping my head into these books." "Same." I said. "Well I will see you around." She said as she started to smile. "You too." I responded.
As I was going to science class, I've seen that girl from the cafeteria. She looked lost, so I wanted to help. I walked up to her and tapped her shoulder. "Hi. I'm Melanie." I said politely. "Hi. My name is Taylor." she said softly looking down at her shoes.
"Nice to meet you Taylor. What's wrong?" I said. "I'm new here. And I can't find my class." she said quietly. "What's your next class on your schedule?" I asked. "It's science." Ironically, I'm going there too. "Well that's the class I'm going to right now. So I'll bring you." I said as I smiled. "Ok. Thanks." "No problem."
We were walking down the hall and talking about random things. Taylor seems cool to me. I see Nina and all my other friends. Pretty much everyone to juniors to seniors knows me. As I was walking down the hall, someone yells out to me and Taylor.
"Melanie! Why are you hanging out with that creep?" Jason, the football player asked. Everyone started to laugh. Taylor looked embarrassed. "Guys don't be like that. She's new. I'm bring her to science." I said defensively. "Yea! Make sure she doesn't do anything weird to you." Everyone burst into laughter. "How about you go home and cry to your mom about how you suck at playing football. Mama's boy." Everyone oohed and started laughing. Jason was quiet. "That's what I thought." With that I walked away with Taylor.
We walked into science class and took a seat in the back. "Thanks for defending me out there Melanie." she whispered to me. "No problem." Then we carried on to science class.
Lunch
Me and Taylor was on our way to lunch. I had a chicken sandwich with salad on the side. And Taylor had a chicken salad. I saw Alexia, Nina, Ashley, and Jasmine come into the lunch room. I wave them over to the table I was sitting at with Taylor. When they sat down, they had a weird facial expression. They were looking at Taylor. "Hey guys! This is Taylor. Taylor meet Jasmine, Ashley, Nina, and Alexia. I said pointing them out. "Hi." She said with a small smile. "Hi." They waved their hands at her. Nina nudged me on my hip. "What? I whispered softly so no one can really hear us. "Who is she?" She said as she scrunched up her face. "The new girl. I met her in the hallway and we found out we were going to the same class." I said with curiosity on why she was asking me this question.
"Oh ok then." She said as if we didn't have this conversation. We continued on with lunch and finished off the school day. I have this weird feeling the girls don't really have good vibes around Taylor. But we will see.
