Archer's POV

Friday...

I pulled my leater jacket on before heading out of my room. I went down the stairs and started putting on my shoes.

"I'm heading out!" I shouted.

Just when I was about to open the door my dad came into weiw. He put his arms over his chest and looked at me with a serious look. "Where you going?" He asked.

"To a party." I said nonchalant.

"With humans?!" He roared at me with a angry look on his face.

"Yes, dad. It's a party at school and everyone is invited." I lied. "It would be weird if I wouldn't show up. And dad, I'm 17. I can take care of my self."

He gave me a slow nod before he headed back into the living room. I opened the door and went outside. The door slamed shut behind me as I headed towards the house that Dean sent me the address of.

After a few minutes I arrived at the house. There were already alot of people here and I heard loud music coming from the house. I put my foot on the driveway and started walking towards the door. It stood open and I walked right in. Some guy thanked me for coming and handed me a soda. I thanked him and walked into the living room. The room was filled of people dancing under a discoball. I turned my head to the left and saw a couch. On the couch Dean and some other guys sat. Dean looked up and when he saw me he stood up.

"Hi! I didn't think you would show." He said as he walked up to me.

"Yeah, well. Here I am." I said and smiled. Dean nodded and took a zip of his soda.

"So who is hosting this party anyways?" I asked.

"Oh, It's someone of the popular guys in my class. He invited everyone in my class and said that we could bring our friends. Wanna met him?" He asked and pointed towards the kitchen.

"Sure." I said and followed Dean into the kitchen. We walked up to some dudes sitting on the counters and the kitchen island.

"Uh, this is my friend Archer. He is new at our school." Dean said to the tall, dark haired guy.

"Whatever..." He said and jumped down from the counter. "I'm Ryan. Feel free to drink and eat whatever you want." He said and reached out his hand to me.

"Archer." I said and took his hand. I shaked it before following Dean out of the room. Dean drank the rest of his soda and threw the mug into the trashcan. He grabbed a bag of chips and walked out of the living room.

"You can stay if you want but I don't feel like staying here any longer." Dean said and walked out the door.

"No, no. Wait!" I said and ran up to him.

"I was thinking of going on a walk, wanna come?" He asked while opening his bag of chips. I nodded and we started walking. Dean propped a chip into his mouth. I sniffed and there it was. That scent again, his scent. I don't understand what it is that is so special about his scent. Why does it stand out too me? He smells just like every other dude, but also not. I don't understand.

I looked at him and saw a glimpse off sadness in his face. Why would he be sad? Could it have something to do with that Ryan guy?

"Dean? Why do I get the feeling that those guys at the party don't really like you?" I asked and Dean lifted his gaze to face me.

"Oh, it's because they don't. You know, they are the popular guys. Why would they like someone like me." He said and let out a painful laugh.

"Not just them, I got the same feeling when you stood up from the sofa in the living room to. Those guys looked relieved when you walked over to me. Why is that?" I asked.

"Yeah well, I'm kind of the outsider. Last year there were all these rumors about me at school, rumors about that I was gay." He said and propped another chip into his mouth.

"Were they true?" I asked and tried to read his expression. He didn't feel at all nervous to talk about this, actually he felt calm.

"Huh?" He said with his mouth full of chips.

"The rumors, were they true." I asked again.

"Hell yeah." He said and smiled. And right there, again. Those dimples. "But you know people. So, ever since then I have kind of been the outsider. Not really many friends."

"Oh, well I know how it is. To be the outsider. Actually one of the reasons my parents made me change schools." I said and looked at Dean. He smiled and his cheeks went pink.

"Sorry about that." He said and looked up into the sky. "But this won't ruin things, right? I mean, we can still be friends right?"

"You see me as your friend?" I asked shocked but I couldn't help but smile.

"Well, your the closest to a friend that I have had in a really long time. So, yeah, I guess so." He said and looked back at me.

"Okay. But no, I don't care about that. Like I said, I know what it's like to be the outsider. You know, us outsiders need to stick together." I said and bumped him in the side. He smiled and started blushing.

"Yeah, thanks. But I need to get going home now. Sorry, but I kind of promised my mom that I would be home early." He said and looked a little disappointed.

"Okay, I can follow you home if you want." I said and Dean nodded. He turned left and I followed him.

After a few minutes later he stopped in front of a little cute blue house with the cutest little garden. There were all of these colorful flowers and they smelled wonderful.

"Yeah, this is were I live." Dean said and turned towards me. He smiled and put his empty chipsbag in his jeans pocket. He walked up to me and hugged me. "Thank you for letting me be myself."

I am in actuall shock. He is hugging me. Why would anyone wanna hug me? I put my arms around him too. His scent entered my nose and I felt like I was gonna drown. He let go of me and I let go of him.

"I guess I'll see you monday." He said and slowly turned towards his house.

"Yeah, bye." I said and he waved before walking into his house. I turned towards the forest and started walking. There is no way that I'm going home tonight.

I would have never guessed that Dean is gay. But ofcourse, what do I know about not being straight. My whole childhood my dad has thought me all these rules about what is okay and what is not okay. And one of the things on the not okay list is being anything other than straight, because that's a sin. Not saying that I'm gay, cause I'm not. It's just how my father has thaught me so I guess that Dean being gay was a chock to me. But I like that he dares to be who he is.
