Sigyn's magic surged out of her body a burst through Asgard.
Every street flooded with a puff of green smoke. It was so powerful that it made a loud bang when she had done it. When saying the spell, Sigyn had risen and was now floating in the air. Her eyes were white, and she couldn't hear anything. Her mind was lost but she could see things there. She didn't feel dead, nor did she feel alive.
Sigyn opened her eyes and found herself to be floating in a black abyss. There was nothing surrounding her at all. Then a small speck of green light came from her right-hand side. She floated towards it and reached out her hand. It was cold and slimy.
Suddenly it yanked Sigyn in, and she was surrounded by her memories! Jumping out of the window at night to go with Fenrir, practicing her spells and riding with her mother. Her whole life flashed before her eyes, literally. Sigyn knew that she had to get back to her normal self. If she could do a big spell like that all she had to do was control herself into getting out of it.
She felt Lojal Verge still by her side. She picked it up and clutched it tight. She channelled nearly all her magic into it and cast the most powerful spell she could think of. It started to glow in green and vines from a tree started to wrap around her. She looked upward and saw the Yggdrasil. The vines crept up her face and she shut her eyes.
"Sigyn! Wake up my dear please!"
Sigyn blinked open and saw her father leaning over her. Sigyn couldn't help but smile at the sight of her father.
"I may have broken the no magic rule."
"No matter. You're a hero now."
She sat up and looked around. Many of the women had returned from the stronghold and were reuniting with their families. Families were hugging, crying, and even slapping the males in the face for locking them up. Sigyn saw her mother coming toward her.
As they hugged she whispered into Sigyn's ear, "I knew you could do it."
They helped her get onto her feet. She saw some guards pulling away Lorelei. Yet again, Lorelei looked up and smirked at Sigyn. It wasn't the end of Lorelei, and Sigyn's family knew it.
"We will be locking her away in the strongest prison on Hel," said the AllFather coming up behind them with the rest of the royal family, "We will ensure she doesn't come out this time."
Sigyn felt a sense of relief when she heard this. But there was also that throbbing reminder of what she had done today. Sigyn defeated her own sister, fought against the princes of Asgard and on top of that she had shown everyone on Asgard that she had magic. It has been a very interesting day.
"On behalf of Asgard I thank you for your deeds Ms Iwaldisdottir for you have saved every man and woman from Lorelei's actions," Sigyn smiled as Odin turned to Iwaldi, "You had good intentions my friend, but powers like Sigyn's should not be hidden as they can do good for people. Which is why I have come to the decision of asking Sigyn if she would like to be Asgard's new sorceress as Karnilla is doing her royal duties on Nornheim."
Sigyn froze as still as ice from what she had just heard. 'Sigyn Sorceress of Asgard' it sounded quite nice.
"Well?" Frigga questioned
"It would be an honour but I would like some time to get things in my life back to normal," she replied bowing her head down.
"Splendid."
"Oh I believe this is yours."
She pulled out the Lojal Verge and showed it to Odin. There was shock among each of their faces as Sigyn seemed to be doing the impossible. The Lojal Verge only came to those worthy of it and for the last 10 centuries no one has been able to wield it.
"Keep it Sigyn as it seems the sword has chosen you. Now Iwaldi I must have a word with you about..."
Odin, Iwaldi, Ingrid and Frigga left discussing Lorelei whilst Thor went to find Sif and the Warriors three. It was amazing how Sigyn's life had changed from being a regular village girl to a powerful sorceress.
As she examined the room the Asgardians beady eyes were fixed to her. But not in fear as she had expected. Instead they looked up in warm smiles and bowed their heads. She placed the Lojal Verge in her belt. The sword was truly a Loyal Guardian.
"You realise that what you have done is a great achievement right?" Sigyn spun around to see where the voice was coming from and noticed that Loki was still there.
"Which part? Saving Asgard or being able to trick the God of Mischief?" she joked.
"I'd say both, not everyone can fool me," he said with a light chuckle. "I wanted to ask how you did such a powerful spell? The one to stop Lorelei. What book did you read?"
"I'm self-taught and I don't have any books. I guess it's mainly about the control you have over the spell, especially when you lose your conscious."
"I'm impressed," he chuckled.
Well another achievement in the books. Sigyn had impressed one of Asgard's most powerful sorcerers by doing a spell that he couldn't.
"I hope you intend on coming to the palace often. It would be great speaking to another sorceress, other than my mother of course,"
"I would love to come back to the palace,"
"Splendid. Oh before I forget I don't believe we have formally met,"
"Oh right, Sigyn Iwaldisdottir," she said with a small curtsy.
"It's a pleasure. My name is Loki, God of Mischief, Master of Lies, and proud prince of Asgard, " he spoke with a bow.
"Are you sure that is your full title?" she teased.
"Well unless you want me to say that I'm the youngest son of Odin then yes,"
"In my perspective the youngest child is the most powerful,"
"Hmm I couldn't agree more,"
A silence fell among the two as they stood there wondering what to say next.
"Well I best be off," Sigyn said breaking the silence.
"Oh yes of course, you have places to be I have places to be."
She whistled for Fenrir who gave her a great lick in return. As she leapt onto him Loki said,
"My what a marvellous beast you have there."
"This is my best friend Fenrir and Fenrir this is Loki."
"It's a pleasure to meet you," Fenrir replied
Of course Loki couldn't understand what he had said so Sigyn translated, "He said it is a pleasure to meet you,"
"Oh um, the pleasure is mine," he said with a slightly confused look on his face.
"I'll see you soon, Mr Mischief."
They exchanged smiles and then Sigyn turned Fenrir towards the door.
"Where are we going Sigyn?" said Fenrir
"Home."
And with that, this is the end of the story of our brave heroine. Of course it is the end of this story, not her story. For Sigyn Iwaldisdottir will have many challenges to face in her lifetime. And so this is not the end, but a mere beginning.
AND THATS THE END OF PART 1 FOLKS.
So this is one of stories in sigyn's life and it will continue. I am currently writing a part 2 so i hope you lot like part 1. THANK YOU SO MUCH for the reads and votes we are so close to 100 reads.
