The sound of healers chattering, and medicine bottle clinking was what Sigyn fluttered her eyes open to. The morning light burned her eyes as she tried to learn her surroundings. Eir came up to her and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Lady Sigyn do not rise too fast. You will still be a bit dizzy from your unconscious state,"

"E-eir, my mother! My mother, did they find her! Is she alright?" she shot up.

"My lady, it is not my place to tell you what has happened, please wait a moment and we'll get Iwaldi," Eir gently pushed her down onto her bed and walked out of the room.

Sigyn's head was spinning again and not from her quick wake.

Her mother.

Out of everyone, those vile pathetic puerile beasts took her. She grabs hold of the white sheets underneath her, her copper hair turning a dangerous shade of red.

"Sigyn?" she whipped her head around to the voice of her father.

"Father?" his eyes were filled with tears as he lowered his head.

She was gone.

The red had burnt away and in came a dark shade of blue. Her father slowly walked towards her. Sigyn felt a strong pair of arms wrap around her. She cried into the hug. She held him so tight in fear that he might go as well.

"We'll find her Sigyn, I swear,"

She nodded into his arms.

"Come daughter, the AllFather has called for us,"

She pulled away and stood up next her father more determined than ever. They walked side by side down the halls of the palace and into the king's board room. The seats were filled with councilmen and gods, including the ones she met earlier. The AllFather sat at the head with Frigga, Thor, and Loki to his right. Loki stood up when Sigyn entered the room. She offered him a small smile as she sat next to her father who was on the left of Odin.

"Iwaldi, how do you fare?"

"I am as well as I can be during these dark times AllFather,"

"My condolences for your wife my friend, how do you feel Sigyn?"

"I feel ready for war,"

"She has your warrior blood my friend,"

Iwaldi smiled at his friend as Sigyn looked to her glass of wine. Odin rose from the table and raised his hand catching everyone's attention. The room fell silent as he sat back on his seat.

"Thank you for arriving on such short notice, we are here to speak about the attack of the Draugr,"

"The attack was unexpected AllFather, they have been at peace in the dark regions of Helheim for years and have never dared to step a foot out of their borders," spoke Tyr.

"And yet now they are here, why?" asked Freya.

"They wanted something, they are not in this alone," spoke up Frey.

"Could it be something related to the hostage, Ingrid Agnorsdottir,"

The room felt silent once more and all eyes turned to Sigyn and Iwaldi. She was deep in thought, tracing her finger along the rim of her goblet. Iwaldi was the one who broke the silence,

"Lorelei,"

Sigyn immediately stopped. Her eyes fixated on her wine then up to the wall behind Thor.

"No,"

"Sigyn I know it's hard to believe but-" Idunn started.

But Sigyn cut her off, "I know my sister too well, she may be involved, but she isn't the only one," darting her eyes to Idunn.

"Are you suggesting there is a second party?" asked a councilmember.

"Yes I am,"

"But who? Who would be capable of leading an entire group of Draugr to Asgard to kidnap an innocent woman?" spoke Nanna.

Odin and Frigga shared a look.

"Whoever it is we are going to get Lady Ingrid back," Thor spoke nodding to Sigyn.

She nodded back in thanks and chugged down her wine.

"So where do we begin?" she said.

"Heimdall says they left through the western caves which is most likely how they entered the place," said Sif as a hologram of Asgard appeared above the table.

"It appears to be a secret tunnel that allows passage through Yggdrasil and that they were the only beings that entered," said Frigga.

"No second party?" asked Sigyn.

"I'm sorry darling no,"

"Where would they have her?"

"The Draugr reside in the darker regions of Helheim, between the border of the living and the dead," said Balder

"Exactly where Lorelei is," spoke Hogun.

"Yes and there are many caves and tunnels in that area. Most leading to a very painful death and others leading to horrors that the realms should never see," said Frey.

"I am getting my wife back one way or another," said Iwaldi.

"And we'll be there to help you gammel venn. But for now, we must take rest and tomorrow we shall speak of more plans. Meeting dismissed!" Odin called.

Sigyn stood up and marched out of the room. Her mind was to fogged to stay there any longer.

"Sigyn!" she turned around to see Loki running after her.

Her stern face softened when she caught his eye.

"Loki," the way his name rolled of her tongue sent butterflies to his stomach.

"Sigyn, I-I'm so sorry for what happened to Lady Ingrid. I-I was r-right there, and I didn't do anything because I saw you on the floor and I j-just couldn't-"

"Loki, look at me," she said standing right in front of him.

She gently took his hands in hers and held them tightly, "Thank you for saving me, I know you feel bad for not going after her, but she would've wanted you to come to me. I just hope you'll stand by my side to help get her back,"

"I'll follow you anywhere Sigyn," his emerald eyes shimmered as he spoke those words.

Even in these dark times he still managed to make her hair turn pink and crack a smile.
