Chapter 21

"Yes Mom, the doctor said it is ok for her to travel."

"But she is 7 months pregnant now. Isn't she too far along now to travel?"

"Mom! I told you the doctor gave us the all clear. We are coming."

"Maks, let me talk to her."

"Mom, here is Meryl."

"Hi Momma. I promise if I was not safe to travel, I would not go. The last place I want to give birth is on an airplane."

"We could just come to you."

"But all of the family will be in New York. We are coming to you."

"Ok. Just be careful."

"We will I promise."

"I'll let you go pack. I love you Meryl. Keep our little Princess safe."

"I will. I love you too Momma. Maks says he loves you too."

"Now that that is handled, let go pack."

Their alarm went off at 5:30am on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. They had to pick up Val and Jenna and be at the airport by 6:30am. They ate a quick breakfast and packed food for the flight. When they got to Val and Jenna's, Maks went to knock for them. Val opened the door and Maks helped carry luggage. Jenna hadn't come out yet.

"Val, where is Jenna?"

"She's uh... is still sleeping. She wasn't feeling good so I let her go back to sleep. I'll bring her out in a minute."

"Is she..."

"No! Head cold."

"Oh ok."

Val went back inside and came back out carrying a sleeping Jenna. Maks jumped back out of the car and opened the car door for him.

"Give me her so you can climb in. Then she can lay down for the drive."

"Thanks. Hopefully she is better by tomorrow. She has barely gotten out of bed these past two days." Val had climbed in. Maks was now laying Jenna down. She never even stirred.

"Has she taken medicine? Does she have a fever?"

"Yes and yes. I brought more medicine with us so we should be good."

"Does Mom know she is sick" Maks asked.

"No. Jenna told me not to tell her because she knew Mom would tell us not to come if she knew."

"You're so right. She was so worried about us traveling. Meryl somehow finally convinced her it was ok for us to travel."

"You know none of us Chmerkovskiy's can say no to her."

"That's very true."

The rest of the drive to the airport was filled with light conversations. When they arrived, Val woke up Jenna. She was not very happy about that but made her way into the airport. Meryl convinced her to eat some crackers and drink some juice before they got on the plane. Once they were in their seats, Jenna curled up on Val and went back to sleep. She sleeps the whole flight.

They landed in New York around 2pm. Sasha had come to the airport to pick them up. Jenna was still miserable. Meryl was uncomfortable from the flight and couldn't wait to get to the house to be able to lie down.

Once they arrived at the house, the men carried in the luggage. Meryl and Jenna, who was feeling a little better, walked into the house first. Larissa and Sofiya jumped up to greet them.
