When Meryl woke up the next morning, she realized that she was not in her bedroom. She was confused at first but the memories of the night before quickly came back to her. She realized that Maks was asleep still. She was glad he was still here. She was so comfortable with him. Her senses were starting to awaken and she realized that her shirt had slid up and Maks' hand was on her stomach. Meryl smiled and put her hand over top of his. All of a sudden, as per usual, morning sickness hit her. She jumped off the couch and ran to the bathroom. She made it just in time.

I can't wait for morning sickness to end. I'm just so tired of all this throwing up.

Meryl's thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the bathroom door.

"Meryl, are you all right? Can I come in?"

"I'm fine. Come on in." Maks walked in and she gave him a weak smile just before becoming sick again. Maks had rushed over and held her hair back. He handed her some toilet paper to wipe her mouth with. When they made eye contact, Maks gave her a small smile and rubbed her back.

"It usually comes in waves of three so..." Meryl got sick again. Maks just soothed her.

After wiping her mouth and flushing the toilet, Meryl turned around to look at Maks.

"That should be it. It's always been in waves of three but that was much faster than it's ever gone. It was much faster and better than yesterday. Maybe I'm almost done with morning sickness. I really don't like it and want it to be done. Thanks for helping me Maks."

"Anything for you, Princess but why didn't you tell me yesterday was a bad morning. I could have picked you up later or something."

"I hadn't told you I was pregnant yet."

"Oh right. How are you feeling?"

"Well I don't feel like I'm going to get sick but I just don't feel good. It's normal.

"Oh Meryl. Come here."

Maks was sitting against the wall right across from the toilet. Meryl crawled over to him and climbed into his lap. She was sitting sideways in his lap, with her feet along the wall to Maks' left. Her head was hiding in his neck on his right side. Maks was playing with hair and rubbing her back. They sat like this for a few minutes until Meryl's stomach growled.

"Well, I guess I'm feeling better now. I'm hungry. Oh, the sudden changes that comes with pregnancy."

"How about we go eat breakfast? I know a great coffee shop we can go to." He kissed her cheek.

"I'd love that but I want to shower, brush my teeth and change first."

"Are you sure you can wait to eat?"

"I have some crackers in my backpack I can eat to hold me over and take my medicine and prenatal with."

"Ok, if you're sure."

"I'm sure. Why don't you go relax and watch TV or something while I get ready?"

"Ok let's get you upstairs." Maks stood up still holding her and carried her out of the bathroom and up the stairs. He put her down when they got into the bedroom. He pulled her into a hug, kissed her cheek and then left the room. Little did Meryl know, Maks was still in the hall waiting for her to get into the shower. Once he heard her get in the shower, Maks walked as quietly as he could back into her room. He went over to the box of clothes and picked out a nice dress for her to wear. He loved her in the dress yesterday and thought she would look precious in this dress. He found a nice pair of sandals in her shoe box and laid them on her bed and then laid the dress next to the sandals. He pulled off a tab of one of the boxes and was lucky enough to have a pen in his pocket. He wrote a note on the cardboard that read:
