Chapter 22
"Is the guest room all set up?" Maks was doing the house work while Meryl relaxed on the couch. He would not let her do anything because she was over 8 month pregnant. Meryl didn't fight it because she didn't have the energy
"Yes Princess. Everything is clean and set up. We need to leave in about 10 minutes to go pick up your parents."
"Help me up please. I need to go to the bathroom and then we can leave." Maks took both of her hands and gently pulls her up.
It was December 23 and Cheryl and Paul were flying in today to spend Christmas with them. Clayton is driving in with the presents and should arrive tomorrow.

"Mom!" Meryl wants to run to her Mom but knows there is no way she can do that. She just waits for her Mom to come to her.
"Hi Mer! I've missed you! Wow look at you. You look like you are ready to pop."
"Not yet. A few more weeks."
"Can hardly wait!'
"Me too Mom. Me too." She pulls her mom into a hug. Paul is talking to Maks.
"Hi Daddy" Meryl says as she smiles at Paul. Paul pulls her close into a hug. He didn't need to say anything else. He then holds her at arms length and looks her up and down. He smiles and kisses her cheek. He puts a hand on her belly and says "Can't wait to meet you soon little one." This brings tears to Meryl's eyes and Maks holds her close.
"Let's go home." Maks leads the way to the car.
"I'm hungry. Anyone else hungry?"
"Yes" both Cheryl and Paul say together.
"Well then let's go get lunch" Maks laughs.

After lunch and a nap taken by all, the four sat in the living room talking and catching up.
"Oh Mom, Dad, do you want to see the nursery?"
"Yes!" Cheryl was the first to stand. Maks helps Meryl up and Paul and Cheryl look on with big smiles.
"Follow me. You guys are going to love it." Meryl led them up the stairs to the closed door of the nursery. "Here we are." She opened the door and Cheryl and Paul gasped. It was just so beautiful.
Three of the walls were painted pink and one wall, the wall on the right when you stand in the doorway, was purple. Along the purple wall were the diaper changer and a few toys on the floor. The center wall had two big windows. The rocking chair sat in the corner of that wall and the purple wall. In the other corner was a dark wood dress. Along the left wall the dark wood crib that she fell in love with. It had light pink sheets with crowns on them. There were princess things all around the room. It was perfect for their little Princess.
"Meryl, Maks, this is perfect" Cheryl said with tears flowing down her face.
"Absolutely perfect" Paul added.
Meryl was holding onto Maks and they both had big smiles. "Thank you. We love it" Maks says.
"The paint is Princess Pink and Princess Purple" Meryl adds.
"We sure love the princess theme." Cheryl hugs both Meryl and Maks. Meryl shows Cheryl the clothes they have already. Maks and Paul are standing in the hall looking in.
"Thank you Maks. For everything. For loving her and showing her what true love really is. For accepting this little one. For being the person to show her what trust looks and feels like. Thank you."
