Capítulo III- Fácilmente derrotada
The wood bruised Atsuki's arms as she tumbled across the floor. She laid on the ground in defeat with a huff and crossed her arms. The pink and blue eyeshadow marked by her sharp eyeliner wasn't applied to her eyes like usual. Her face was bare as sweat coated her forehead and nose causing her to wipe above her upper lip. It was the same routine she had been going through the past two weeks.
Gojou stared down at her through his sunglasses, "You give up too easily." Atsuki stayed silent chewing on her bottom lip. "Why do you give up so easily?" Gojou waited a few moments for her to answer, she only cut eye contact with him. "You know, you won't make any progress at this rate."
Atsuki sat up and rubbed her elbow. "It's harder than I thought. I'm only good at one thing and that's my stupid circus act."
He crouched in front of her, his arms resting on his knees. "You aren't going to get better overnight. Come on, get up," he held a hand out for her. She sighed and took it. "I want to know, why were you called the Joker in the circus?" he questioned as Atsuki grabbed her water bottle in the corner of the room.
"What does it matter I'm not working for the circus?" she answered and took a sip of her water.
"Quit trying to be mysterious, I can easily find you online."
"I wasn't trying to be." Atsuki picked up her deck of cards next to the water bottle and held the 4 hearts between her middle and pointer fingers. "I like playing card games." She tossed the card in the air and caught it between her two fingers to show Gojou the Joker replaced the 4 hearts. "The Joker is a wildcard and I like to be unpredictable in my shows."
Being unpredictable in combat and fighting against curses can be very beneficial. Gojou told himself he would help her use that against any opponent whether it'd be a curse user or curse itself. "Atsuki, have you heard of scaling?"
"Yeah, but I don't think it's the same thing you're thinking of."
"They're throwing cards."
"Oh, so that's what they're called. Why?" Her eyes widened with excitement, "Do you have any!"
"No." Her shoulders sagged and crossed her arms. She opened her mouth to retort something but Gojou continued. "But you can use those very cards you have in your hands."
"They're made out of plastic," she nearly scoffed
"If you infuse them with your cursed energy, they'll be sharper than a knife." He threw the card across the room and it stuck to the wall.
Atsuki's mouth hung open and laughed in amazement. She ran to the wall to pull the card out but it wouldn't budge. "I need a little help." Gojou hopped over to her and removed her card. "I still don't get this cursed energy stuff. Why can't it be easy like adding or subtracting?"
