Capítulo I- El dedo maldito

Megumi released a tired sigh. Atsuki looked up at him, walking by his side. He was tired of looking for the cursed object just like she was. They had been searching for it since noon and it was now around 9 pm. Gojou had texted them the correct location this time, it was at a local high school. Atsuki and Megumi didn't want to believe it at first but Gojou insisted it was there for sure. Behind the school was a memorial ground. Graves stuck out of the ground surrounded by trees. The engraved stone would crumble underneath Atsuki's finger if she touched it. Moss sprouted from the stone although most of the writing was eligible to be read.

A faint trail of Sukuna's finger was the only thing that gave away its location. Atsuki and Megumi wandered the memorial following its trace. He was able to pick it up more than Atsuki. After all, he's been part of this world since he was eight. Atsuki was in it for almost a year. They stopped in front of a Stevenson screen. It was probably as old as the stones a couple of feet away.

"They're keeping a cursed object in a place like this? Could they be any dumber?" Megumi grumbled.

"No one can have that same large brain you have, Fushiguro," Atsuki complimented and sighed. She took a step forward to the wooden structure and withdrew a card from her pocket, missing him turning his head to the side from the compliment. Megumi placed his fingers on the latch. He hesitated for a moment before opening the doors.

Atsuki dropped her hand to her side when nothing was on the Stevenson screen. He gasped, placing his hands in it and Atsuki's eyebrows shot up. A zap of fear struck their nerves. The two scavenged the area around the wooden structure, ignoring the rough wood scratching their hands. The patch of grass around it was clean and trimmed, not a hole on the ground showed that it was buried. Megumi jumped on top of it to find nothing.

"A dead end?" Megumi fretted, hopping off of the wooden structure. He neatly landed next to Atsuki.

She closed the doors to the screen and pointed to the door missing a lock. "Someone could've taken it. It looks like there used to be a lock."

Megumi looked at the scratched metal loop with rust discoloring the silver metal. "It's possible. I'll call Gojou-Sensei." He took his phone out of his pocket and turned it to the side so Atsuki wouldn't see his password.

She didn't take offense to it. If she knew the password, she would've taken one too many pictures or looked through his gallery for a random photo he has of himself. She wanted a contact photo for her phone. He probably didn't have one, but it wouldn't hurt to check. She had a photo of everyone, even Nanami. It was when she accompanied Gojou and Nanami on a mission. Atsuki doesn't speak to him. Only to greet him passing the school grounds. Still, she managed to get one because, unlike Megumi, he didn't know she wanted a contact photo.
