CALEB
Not to be smug, but my gamble to get a date with the hot red head actually paid off. She waited a full two days before she sent me a flirty little text to get more information on what she needed to wear for our date on Saturday. She was just my type, confident, sexy, intelligent and a body i'd like to explore every inch of.
Even though I've been dreading this Charity Ball ever since i'd been roped into going, I was looking forward to having a few drinks and to hopefully blow off some steam with this girl. I weirdly have some serious pent up sexual frustration that has built up over the week that no amount of self help in the shower seems to take the edge off.
Working for Joanie was panning out to be harder than I first thought it would be. Turns out Joanie takes after her mum in work ethic. Just like her mum, Joanie is a machine. She puts 110% into everything she does. Everything has to be perfect, everything has to be in its place, there's simply no time for fun in her life, she's all work, work, work. It's pretty exhausting to be around someone like that when i'm literally running on fumes to have the enthusiasm just to get out of bed. So tonight is a good change up for me.
The red head on my arm is dressed in an eye catching silver dress thats cut low in the bust with a slit that goes high enough to show off her amazing toned thigh. She's certainly comes from money based on the neighbourhood i've picked her up from plus the fact that she's dripping in high end designer gear. As we enter the foyer of the hotel where the Auction and Ball is taking place I notice that a fair few heads turning in our direction, she makes quite the impression I notice...fuck if only I could remember her name.
As we enter the ball room, I can see the party is already in full swing with the rich and the super rich here to dance, over indulge then take part in a high end auction where people will try and outbid and over pay for things just to look better than the next table, all for some charity I can't even remember the name of.
Christ I hate these these things, I slightly loosen my tie already feeling hot and irritated in my black suit. I'm pissed with my mum right now for making me come.
"Let's get a drink shall we? I'd love a champagne." The red head coo's and I just nod as we start to make our way to the bar. However it's not long before our mission to the bar is halted by some jackass from my past who'd i'd rather not see.
"Cal Maverick! Good to see you man! I didn't think you were back in the country! How have you been?" Says Miles Stone, the biggest fucking dick faced wanker that I know, I literally grimace at the sound of his nasally voice.
"Good to see you Miles, I"m..." I begin, but he cuts me off, like he always does.
"Well obviously i'm good. I've made partner at my Fathers firm, did you hear? Oh I bet you didn't after you were off trying to save the world in Africa was it? How's that panned out? Are you back to get a real job? I hear your fathers firm was hiring, surely you'd be a shoe in there?" He snickers and I take a deep breath trying to reign in what I really want to say to him, but luckily my date gets in first.
"Hi, I'm Briony Meyers. Aren't you Miles Stone? Lauren's big brother? I know Lauren from the club!" She squeals with excitement and I've never wanted a drink more than right now.
Miles gives off an arrogant snort to the fact that he's been recognised and is quick to respond. "Guilty! So you're one of Laurens beautiful friends? Well, what a pleasure!" He sleazily replies as he gives my date the once over as if she wasn't even holding onto my arm.
The two of them continue to drone on with boring stories of the times they've had at the club but i've totally zoned out because my focus has suddenly snapped to the goddess in a green dress that is sitting with her back to me at the bar. From where i'm stood the crowd has parted long enough for me to get a good look at her and it's like time stands still.
Her golden honey hair is pinned up high revealing the back of her perfect neck that i'd love to plant kisses on. The silky green dress has a long V shaped back that goes daringly low showing the woman's flawless skin. I'm desperate to walk over to her and run my fingertips then my lips down her spine before pulling her thin spaghetti straps off her shoulders to let me see whats underneath as it's more than apparent she isn't wearing a bra. The urge to see her face is overwhelming.
I side glance at my date who had seemed so sexy and beautiful when I first picked her up, now she seems plain and over made. I realise that her make up is heavy and her outfit even though is undoubtedly expensive seems cheap. Fuck i've completely forgot her name again!
The crowd moves again and the woman in green disappears from sight and i'm beyond disappointed.
"Don't tell me that a man like you is here alone?" my dates shrill voice says to Miles and I brought back to their dull conversation.
Miles gives out a throaty chuckle as if the idea of him not being able to bag a date is absurd. "No, my little date is here somewhere. Come meet her for a quick drink. She's a shy little thing but i'm sure she'll turn out to be some fun." He smirks, I go to make up an excuse not to join him, but I see that he's headed to the bar so instead I follow quickly behind him anxious to find the woman in green.
...and there she is, still sat with her back to the crowd sipping on a drink.
However my heart literally winces when I see Miles run his greedy little hand down this goddesses back to get her attention and nausea hits me when I realise that she belongs to him.
The woman in green slowly turns around and my breath is knocked clean out of my chest and my eyes grow wide.
"Caleb?" Joanie frowns.
"Joanie." I whisper back in surprise.
